If I could give this establishment 0 stars I would. The main reason we went here was for Lobster and oysters. Which we called in advance to make sure they served this. From the moment we got there the atmosphere was unwelcoming. Took about two minutes for someone to greet us. It was a Party of 5 and we aren’t white just to give you context of the situation. Finally a young waitress greeted us, she was sweet and she then seated us. Once we were ready to order, we ordered many food items but the main issue was in regards to the steamed items we ordered. We confirmed if they sold oysters and the waitress told us they do. So we ordered 2 orders of steamed oysters and 1 order of steamed clams. We waited about 45 minutes maybe almost an hour for the food to come only for it to be wrong. Another waitress came out with our food but the steamed items was only clams. When we told this waitress what the correct order was, she instantly became annoyed, it was the exaggeration on the way she was huffing and puffing as she was grabbing the wrong food items from the table and going back to the kitchen. I could hear her in the back complaining that we didn’t want the food, making it seem like we were the issue the food was wrong. Once she came back she explained that our first waitress was fairly new and gave us misinformation. Apparently they only sold fried oysters not steamed. Keep in mind that this is the main reason we called before dining here. She offered to for us to order something else. My little brother was the only one who hadn’t received food yet then ordered their 2 lobster tail meal with fries. Had to wait about another 20 minutes to 30 minutes for the food to come. Never saw our original waitress for the rest of our dining experience there. The 2nd waitress went to every single table but ours asking if everything ok. Finally she came back with the lobster meal and my brother said it didn’t taste right like it wasn’t fresh or it had been sitting for a while. My mom and husband said the same when they tried it as well. Me and my little brother took the food back to the counter where (I believe who was the owner) was sitting and expressed that lobster was not good. The 2nd waitress takes the plate and aggressively place it on the counter stating “it’s fresh!” The owner calmly explains that if the lobster wasn’t fresh then it would have an ammonia taste to it. We told them to try it which neither the owner or waitress proceeded to do. The waitress is once again making side comments in the kitchen in the back and giving a nasty attitude. The owner told her to take the plate back, apologized the food wasn’t up to our standards and stated if we wanted to order something else, we could. At this point my brother is hungry and aggravated and declined. My husband took over the situation and just paid the bill for what we did eat. We had to go somewhere else to find food for my brother. We love seafood and that was the worse experience of dining we ever had. That waitress really made the experience uncomfortable and worse than it needed to be just because of her attitude. Would not recommend dining here at all, the food was ok. The way we were treated when there was an...
Read moreOne vacation in 10 years and we chose this place to have a seafood dinner. We live on a fixed income and rarely eat out. This was somewhat disappointing from the start. The broiled seafood platter tasted wonderful. The smallest portions drowned in butter, cost $31.95. The cole slaw was served in a "jello shot" sized cup. The Lobster Roll was $22.95 and it was a small hot dog sized stale roll with the smallest amount of cold, semi burnt tasting, salty "lobster" ish filling in it. See my photo. Not like the plate that was served to the people dining-in who sat next to us while we waited. Or the photos online. We also got two drinks and we were charged $68.28. So $13.38 for a 20oz Dr pepper and a 8oz tea? Either we got taken because we are out of towners or this place is proud of their drinks! I will be paying for this dinner til I'm 68 years old. Edit: And the reply I get isn't I'm sorry, come back and let's make it right. Its; call the customer a liar and blame the sales tax? So let's be real honest then. Maybe if you're restaurant didn't smell like a nursing home and the "should be" retired man taking orders stood up and greeted guests, maybe ask if they would like a table to eat there? Instead of sitting there mumbling words with a frown on his face you wouldn't get bad reviews. When you charge inflated prices for seafood you get in the same town you serve it in, it should match in quality. We paid $13 and change for non-alcoholic drinks. Its odd because The Olympic Flame charged us for 4 drinks when we only ordered 2 as well. Maybe its just a scam the businesses do to make extra money from tourists. Check your receipts in Wildwood! And do not order the Lobster Roll here, Go to the boardwalk. You will get a hot sandwich with flavor and chunks of...
Read moreAs an english teacher, I will begin with a thesis: CANNOT HANDLE LARGE PARTIES.
The restaurant only has eight tables. Our party of eleven arrived around 6:15. In the hour we waited for two tables, we drifted down to nine as two in our party could no longer handle the wait. Granted, one was two years old and it is the height of tourist season. We expected a wait. What we did not expect was another hour plus wait for our food after placing our order. Again, the establishment only holds 32 chairs and our party occupied 25% of them. We watched to go order after to go order leave the restaurant while the apologetic owner offered us more Sam's Club quality two day old cold rolls. When the food finally arrived, it was exactly what you would expect. I ordered one blue crab and a fried seafood platter. It was ok. Frankly, this Jersey Italian will be holding out for Christmas Eve instead of ever considering returning. The broiled/garlic and butter dishes were swimming in the stuff. There is no soda machine. If you want one, you'll have to choose a plastic Coke product from the case. And, bring your own booze. Because you can. And it's a lot better than what they're serving. Ultimately, this restaurant might be precisely what you want-authentic fried food at $20/plate. But, if you're not a teacher like three in our party are, you might be better off dropping your $100 bill somewhere else. I don't blame our server, like the owner did. The kitchen obviously cannot handle the number of orders coming in. With an infinite number of local restaurants offering the same fare, you have a lot better choice. My son didn't make it out of the restaurant before spending fifteen minutes in the one...
