I never write reviews but I am writing this because of how bad our experience was and I see other reviews of customers that have had a very similar experience. We came as a party of 12 on a Monday evening. It was not packed but the wait was about 30 minutes (no big deal). We end up being put upstairs which was awesome (at first) because of the view but would soon realize we were constantly forgotten about and were going downstairs to find our damn waitress. I’ll try to make a long story short. The waitress took forever to come by to take our drinks. I asked for a water (numerous times), never got it so I gave up asking. We asked for another basket of bread (since we were a party of 12 and only got 1), that never came. We even went downstairs to ask but the staff down there were pretty rude about it. We had 3 entrees that were supposed to get salads, we got only ONE and the other came out WITH our dinner. I know a party of 12 is big but the food took forever to come. Mind you, there was only 2 other tables upstairs and it wasn’t that packed downstairs. After asking the waitess multiple times what’s going on with the food, she says (and I quote) “I’m sorry, I’m just a little overwhelmed I have to cover upstairs and downstairs. I asked the cooks and they told me to get out.” Nothing against the waitress, she was super sweet! Just have to note that we found out later that she didn’t put our food order in until 7:22pm… we gave her our order at 7:00pm!! We didn’t get our food until 8:20pm. Yes, we kept track of timing at some point because we were so hungry and we kept getting forgotten about. Finally, the food comes out and the most simplest meal is forgotten, my sons hotdog. Which we waited another 10 minutes for. We at this point ask for a manager because our service was horrendous for a $400 bill we got. Which is another thing, waaaay to overpriced. The manager comes over, doesn’t introduce himself and just says “Hi, so what’s the problem?” In a non-friendly tone. He seemed disgusted that we even had the nerve to complain. Which he obviously knew what the problem was because our waitress told him what was going on. We explain anyway and his answer is “we are really busy, and you’re a 12 table. I see on the receipt your food order was placed at 7:22pm I feel your wait was acceptable for that big of a table. There was nothing wrong with the food though, right?” That was his answer. No apology for being so busy and forgotten upstairs or the fact the waitress submitted our food order 20 minutes after she took our order. Once we finally go down to leave, we see it is not even packed downstairs. Again, I don’t ever write reviews but I have never had such a disappointing experience where even the manager...

What I'm about to write I hope everyone, will do as me and don't look further and head straight to the boathouse when I say 5 stars isn't enough for this place dinner or party I feel 10-15 or more star. Stars to me mean nothing the write reviews mean everything but still don't do justice. I'm from Brooklyn I have never met anyone at the boathouse I went once or twice food and service perfection. But this time I needed something that I know was impossible cause as we all know wildwood doesn't have reservations come in and be seated. It was my daughter's sweet 16 and she wanted the boathouse on the deck. Our party was small 8 people. I called like a month ago after being screwed by our planner, I spoke to a very nice girl at the boathouse told her everything and was told I'm sorry we don't do reservations and the party small to hold a reservation but don't let that change your mind, she then said may I get your number I'll have my manager KC call you I'm sure she can work it out with you. after like an hour KC called. She said yes we don't do or hold but it's a small party I will hold a table for 8 people and make your daughters wish happen omg I was so happy moving forward day of my daughters sweet 16. We where seated on the deck in a great spot we met KC we were greeted lol like famous people she is so friendly so perfect at her job she found the perfect spot my daughter loved it, the. We were introduced to our waitress Anastasia she really went above and beyond she right away felt like family she went to my older daughter they spoke about the food and what they all wanted and when the cake will come out and when to prepare the birthday girl so the lipgloss won't be missed for photos with cake all of it was taken care of all I needed to do was pay the bill lol and that was great for me then KC had to leave and we where given Jen and she was amazing. Ok enough. At the end of the night most important thing to me my baby girl had the best sweet 16 the one she wanted at the place and seating spot she requested and I want to thank these 3 lovely ladies KC, Jen and Anastasia thank you so very much for everything. So don't think should if you should go to the boathouse go to...

Loud music, blah food, overpriced for the lack of quality, gorgeous location, nice front of house staff and manager.

Got there at 7:00 for dinner with my family on a Thursday evening. A DJ was playing music so loud I had to shout in the hostess' ear to put our names in. Another guy was talking into the microphone over the music about the boats. They created a painfully loud and annoying atmosphere. Someone please revoke their DJ and MC privileges.

20-30 minute wait. Not bad. There were plenty of open tables on the bar deck, but I guess, like our party, nobody wanted to sit there because of how loud it was. I stood at the bar for 15 minutes being ignored by the bartender before my dad managed to get his attention and order us some drinks.

Got our table. Server was nice. Rolls were blah. A little stale. Butter cold and hard to spread. Salad was family style, kinda like olive garden. Just meh. Clams casino and calamari were not bad. Raw oysters did not taste fresh. Dinner took forever to come out. Scallops were chewy. My husband said the steak and lobster were chewy and that he's had better surf and turf at Outback steakhouse. Just nothing tasted very fresh or well cooked. One of our party asked for a refill and server walked away without asking if anyone else wanted a refill or even giving us a chance to ask for one. Our drinks went empty for a while.

All in all we were there for 3 hours and paid about $350 for party of 6 that included 2 kids.

Our server, the hostesses, and the manager were all kind and the only reason I didn't give fewer stars.

This is such a prime location, but that is literally the only reason I would go back. We actually wanted to eat next foor at Beach Creek where the food is delicious and the atmosphere much less intrusive but the wait was over an hour and our kids couldn't wait that long.

The next night we ate at Poppi's and wow what a good meal! No water view but fast, efficient service and...

I tried to go to Urie’s, but they were h having a private party, so the sweet manager told me about their sister restaurant next door, the Boathouse, and actually walked me all the way from Urie’s to the hostess stand at the Boathouse. I waited about 20 minutes for a table, and realized as I was reading that the restaurant I was actually about to close. They didn’t blink and seated everyone who was waiting no matter what time it was. I was seated on the wraparound porch on the inside of the restaurant, which is actually outside. They were closing the “Flip Flop Nation” outside seating area, as the servers have been there all day, and they wanted to be able to send them home. Like everyone right now they are shortstaffed. My young server, Jack, was very sweet, and attentive. Although it was hot and he was pleasant through his mask. I ordered a glass of water and when it was not very big asked him for a larger glass. He brought me a whole pitcher so I would have plenty. I had the broiled seafood combo, which included a piece of fresh caught flounder, a small crab-cake, three fair-size shrimp, three scallops, and two clams casino. It was a very tasty. He would’ve came with two sides, and I selected the coleslaw and fries, and then Jack informed me that he would also be bringing me a salad and some bread. It was a feast! The salad was fresh and dressed with a vinaigrette, the bread was warm and served with real butter, the fries were huge and crispy on the outside, and the coleslaw seemed like it was locally made. Even though it was nearly 9 PM when I finally finished my dinner, and there were only a few other people still in the restaurant, Jack encouraged me to take my time. I would definitely go back to the Boathouse when I am in the Wildwoods.

After seeing a crowd when driving by we decided to go for dinner at the Boathouse. We were given the choice to be seated in the dinning area or at the patio / bar area. We choose the patio and were given a table on the marina side. The table was clean and the plastic patio chairs were comfortable enough. They offer a good selection of drinks and they are reasonably priced. The half shell clams were decent but a bit gritty, not the best but enjoyable. The sea food pasta was very large, highly recommend. The crab cake was very creamy and refined, not chunks of crab but tasted okay. Perhaps if ordered I would recommended the fried version and not broiled. The tile fish was generous in portion and was alright in taste. The breaded shrimp and scallops was good and similar to other dishes at other restaurants that serve it. Servers were friendly and attentive, some were new too. The price was a bit high for the venue and food served - I hope it gets better. The location is good and it has the potential to offer a better experience. EDIT: The alcohol prices (beer, wine, mix drinks) are not listed on the menu! Be sure to ask. It was reasonably priced though but if listed it would be transparent. Salas and bread is served family style but only provided after you order entrees. If you going to provide a better dining experience at these prices, reconsider this policy. Seagulls will snatch food from unoccupied tables. We saw it happen when service did clean up a table quickly. Entertaining but again, not sure this is what this venue is going for? I can get the same entertainment at a park. If it wasn't for the kind service at our table, it would have been two stars.

I'm only commenting on this one particular issue. Not the food or atmosphere. My wife and I went to the Boathouse specifically to order from their "Sunset Specials" menu. According to the Boathouse's website, the menu is available from 4 pm to 5 pm daily. It has some great-looking entries for only $20. We arrived at the restaurant a little after 4:30. I specifically asked the hostess if we could order off the Sunset Specials menu. She told me that yes, we could order from that menu anywhere in the restaurant (outside, inside, etc.). We were told our table would be ready in 15-20 minutes. Thirty-three minutes later I received a text message that our table was ready. When seated, we asked if we could see the Sunset Specials menu, as it wasn't given to us initially. The waitress said something that I couldn't hear and walked away, presumably to talk to the hostess or manager. When she returned, she told us that we could not order off of that menu since it was now after 5 pm. We left, not because we couldn't afford the regular-priced menu, but because we felt mislead. Suggestions for the Boathouse management: 1. Allow people to order off the Sunset Specials menu based on the time they arrive, since you can't predict how long it will take for a table to become ready. The way you do this now is classic anti-consumerism. 2. Short of implementing suggestion #1, tell people that they must ORDER before 5 pm. Display the same on your website.
