I'm very particular about the Chinese food that I eat. I usually order chicken or shrimp dinners, and I expect my chicken to be like and make it at home. By that statement, I expect the chicken to basically pull or string apart much like well cooked meats do. I happened to come across Tang Asian while searching, probably a little bit over 2 years ago. Initially, my experience was tied solely to the eating-in, and it was great.
I've told others about this place, even relatives as they're often the most critical, and they all agree that it's a very good Asian restaurant. Personally, we've had shrimp lo mein, chicken lo mein, shrimp with eggplant, shrimp egg rolls, California rolls, sweet and sour chicken, pork fried rice, brown rice, white rice, miso soup, wonton soup, seafood special and coconut shrimp. All have been great, and no complaints were noted. Of course, this is just an opinion, but I think they do everything quite well. Their soups, especially the wonton, are fantastic.
Of course, no one can always be satisfied and there's always going to be a dissenter among the group. You never know the scenario, whether that person woke up on the wrong side of the bed and just decided to be a complainer that day. But all in all, the food is very good. The way I look at these things is, cook it yourself. If not, stop complaining. I'm sure every dinner that was ever cooked in your house was spectacular and met with enthusiasm. Take that into consideration when you're writing your next 'objective' review.
In summary, I recommend giving this place a try if you got a desire for Asian food. The customer service is great, as they really try to make everything as perfect as it can be for you. I've had many occasions where I've requested multiple orders to be placed in separate bags, and it's always been correct. Lastly, they don't use much soy or MSG, so if that's what you like you may not be impressed. Otherwise,...
Read moreTang’s Asian Cuisine, located on Wilkes-Barre Township Boulevard, offered a pleasant dining experience, with a very friendly server and excellent food.
We arrived on a Friday evening shortly before 7:00. There were plenty of tables available, so we were immediately seated. Our server was a very agreeable young woman, and served us our soft drinks before taking our order.
We ordered the fried pork Gyoza as an appetizer, and it came rather quickly with a side of soy sauce. The Gyoza was crispy and had plenty of flavor. A steamed option is also available.
The House Pad Thai Rice Noodle dish was quite pleasing. One can order it plain or spicy, with a range of numbers (I’m assuming 1 to 10) as to the degree of heat. I chose to go with a 6, which had some heat, but not spicy enough to make it uncomfortable. Included in the noodles were chicken, pork, and shrimp. The noodles weren’t al dente, but neither was it very soft. The dish was topped with crushed peanuts with a piece of lime on the side.
The Spicy Basil Fried Rice (also a 6) was also very tasty. The dish was ordered with tender chicken, but one can also order it with vegetables, pork, beef, or shrimp. The meal was very flavorful, and enough was served to warrant a to-go container.
The decor wasn’t overly Asian, but the atmosphere was quiet and comfortable. Our entrees were served in a timely fashion, and our server was very attentive without becoming burdensome. The outside of the establishment was also unassuming, but don’t let that deter you from having an otherwise delicious meal. In addition to dine-in, take-out is also available. We noticed employees walking around quite often with paper bags ready to go.
All in all, Tang’s Asian Cuisine should be patronized, perhaps fueling up before a shopping trip to the nearby Wegman’s...
Read moreIt was absolutely scrumptious and very well priced. Our server, Sunny was fantastic! Popilindo fell in love with her. One enjoyed the blackened Red Snapper - though the menu doesn't mention it being blackened. Also, the avocado salad was perfect - still can't imagine how they sliced the carrots into such impressively fine short threads. The tea was served in absolutely lovely little tea cups. My It was all that I could do to slip one into my shirt pocket - but alas . . . my partner of conjugality glared with such ferocity that I was inclined to return the purloined tea cup. (sad face emoji). There was also a very nice fellow providing excellent service. He wore the coolest multicolored hoodie . Cool hoodie guy was the busiest of all the staff. He would be at a very far end of the restaurant and the phone would ring and he would run the length of the field to answer. Then he would run back to finish what ever at the farthest corners of the restaurant. Then a client for pick-up service would walk in and he would run the field to tend to them. Up and down the full length - very amusing ( wish I caught his name). One and only one little problem: the music system had one of those sleepy-time, lullaby piano tune that repeated endlessly and was about thirty-eight seconds long. Repeating over and over the entire time we were there. The entire restaurant was bobbing their heads to the simple beat of the music. The grand finale -- they brought out a huge platter of fried Oreo cookies topped off with cream. Perfect end to an almost perfect...
