From the moment I stepped into The Flaming Crab in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, I knew I was in for a treat. The restaurant welcomes you with its tasteful and lively marine decor, blending the excitement of the high seas with a contemporary design that's both eye-catching and comfortable. The atmosphere is charged with an appropriate high energy, making it a perfect spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. The interior is spacious and comfortable, boasting plenty of seating for groups of all sizes, with the added bonus of many TVs to catch a game or news. But what truly set my experience apart was our server, Ish. Ish was the epitome of what you look for in a server - positive, upbeat, informative, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. His enthusiasm for the restaurant's offerings was contagious, making our dining experience exceptionally positive. Now, let's talk about the food because, oh, was it excellent! We dove headfirst into the seafood boil, a specialty of The Flaming Crab, and it did not disappoint. The boil was a delightful medley of flavors, featuring the freshest seafood, corn on the cob, potatoes, and a blend of spices that was both invigorating and utterly delicious. Each bite was a testament to the care and quality the kitchen puts into their dishes. But The Flaming Crab doesn't stop at seafood. We also tried the chicken wings and calamari, which were just as tasty and well-prepared as the boil. It's clear the menu is thoughtfully designed to cater to a wide variety of tastes, ensuring there's something for everyone, whether you're a seafood aficionado or in the mood for something a bit more traditional.Everything we ordered seemed to be made fresh, presented with care, and tasted wonderful. The restaurant even has a hand washing station for guests, which is a thoughtful touch, especially after indulging in a hands-on seafood feast. And to top it all off, the prices were reasonable, offering great value for the quality of food and service received. In conclusion, if you're a seafood lover or just in search of a lively and enjoyable dining experience in Wilkes-Barre, The Flaming Crab is a must-visit. Be sure to ask for Ish; his service truly makes a great meal an unforgettable one. Highly...
Read moreI made reservations for my daughter’s 15th birthday which was on Dec. 17,2023 because she wanted to sit at the boat table we had a party of 11. I called the Thursday before her birthday which was on Sunday the lady I spoke to said the table was reserved for only 4 and 6 o’clock that I could reserve before that time. She suggested 3 I said 2:45 so I can clear out before the 4 o’clock reservation comes she said that was so sweet of me. My sister arrived at 2:22 pm I know because she called me to let me know she was going in to use the bathroom. I was still in traffic. She said that someone was being seated at the boat table I told her I had reservations to speak with someone before I got there. She spoke to staff and owner and they seat my party on a regular table. I arrived at 2:40 still 5 minutes before my reservation and spoke to staff then the owner. He preceded to tell me that the party they had at the table had a reservation I said how is that possible if when I booked it Thursday only the 4 and 6 o’clock reservation was booked. I even showed him the confirmation text. He said he doesn’t know and is sorry. Well sorry isn’t good enough. The staff was friendly and bought my daughter a slice of cake and song her happy birthday. I ordered my daughter a seafood boil to go because that’s what she REALLY wanted. Other then that I was not spending a dime at that restaurant to be seat anywhere when I reserved a certain spot. He didn’t even ask the other party to switch spots when clearly I had the reservation first. But we are in PA and the other party was white so I guess if you ain’t white you ain’t right. My money is the same color green as theres. Facts are facts. This is sad in 2023 going into 2024. But you ain’t gonna try to seat us anywhere. I stand on what I say. I don’t even believe they had a reservation to be honest. The restaurant was almost empty so they could have put them somewhere us instead of trying to sit us somewhere else. But it is what it is. Never will I spend my money there. It ruined my daughter’s birthday plans. We ended up going to a different restaurant and she enjoyed herself and that’s all that...
Read moreIt was my sister and I first time at this restaurant. I ordered steam clams with butter on the side, and they gave me baby little neck clams with a small potato and a small piece of broccoli swimming in butter that did not have a taste to it, very disappointed with that, I also had the Manhattan Clam chowder which wasn't nothing to write home about, and then for my dinner I ordered the seafood with linguine that had shrimp, scallops and mussels but i didn't want the mussels so they substituted with more shrimp, supposedly, and some kind of sauce, I'll say marinara but there was another name for it. The linguine was so overdone that when you put some in your mouth, it just mushed up. I told the waiter, John, about it, and he said ignorantly, " Well, I didn't make it ," it was a very disappointing experience there. My sister had a bowl of the lobster bisque, and it was disgusting. we didn't know what kind of spice or seasoning was in it, but wow, it was terrible. My sister had the daily special, which was crab legs and shrimp I believe, she enjoyed that she didn't finish it all but the next day she said it tasted better. I was hoping to pay for the dinner at the bar where I believe the owner was but John insisted he would take the card and take care of the bill which he went in the back to do. I left a tip on the table which was probably a mistake because as soon as we stood up to leave the cleaners we're waiting to clean off the table for the next couple. I forgot to mention there was a 20 minute wait so you're best bet is to call ahead and see if there is a wait and if so put your name in. Another thing, the best was the garlic bread which was made with fresh homemade bread that was delicious. Other than that, I won't be going there no more. 2 states in the women's bathroom for all the people who we're in there eating...
