I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kinya Ramen and Yakitori in Wilkes-Barre, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy ambiance that instantly made me feel at home.
The star of the show, however, was undoubtedly the food. The ramen was absolutely divine, with rich and flavorful broth that was perfectly balanced. The noodles were cooked to perfection, and the toppings were fresh and delicious. Each bite was a burst of authentic Japanese flavors that transported me to the streets of Tokyo.
But what truly made my dining experience memorable was the exceptional service provided by our server, Mike. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Mike's friendly demeanor and genuine passion for the food and culture truly shone through, making us feel like valued guests throughout our meal.
Not only did Mike provide excellent recommendations, but he also took the time to explain the different ingredients and cooking techniques used in the dishes we ordered. His attention to detail and willingness to answer our questions made us feel like we were on a culinary journey, exploring the depths of Japanese cuisine.
Furthermore, Mike's efficiency and professionalism were commendable. Despite the restaurant being busy, he managed to attend to all the tables with a smile on his face, ensuring that everyone's needs were met promptly. His ability to multitask without compromising the quality of service truly impressed me.
Overall, my experience at Kinya Ramen and Yakitori was outstanding, thanks in large part to the exceptional service provided by Mike. The combination of delicious food, cozy ambiance, and attentive staff made for a truly memorable dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic taste of Japan in...
Read moreIt was clean and well staffed but the food was really underwhelming.
My friend had gotten an okonomiyaki which was thin and didn’t look like had much cabbage or anything in it. It was about the thickness of a scallion pancake. It’s a ramen restaurant though so I didn’t expect It to be super fancy.
They also have him the incorrect ramen initially and it was one that was higher priced on the menu by a dollar and this was not reflected on the receipt later but it’s just a dollar so not that big of a deal. All the spice in theirs was also in one lump at the bottom.
I got the vegi ramen and the noodle texture was good but it was pretty bland, usually places have some garnish like a sheet of nori or something too this did not. I also wish there was a spicy option for a vegetable ramen but given that the one order was incorrect I’d be hesitant to ask for any customization.
There were also no vegan sushi options everything included an animal and I’d be worried about asking to have it omitted. I don’t feel like having an avocado and cucumber option on the menu would be hard since they are things already stocked for the other sushi.
I also felt like it was major city pricing for less quality. I usually grab ramen in Bethlehem and can get better quality for the same cost or slightly less. It’s better than the one in Dickson city at least and if you can’t drive or just don’t want...
Read moreI would give the food a 4.5, but because it definitely leaned better I went ahead and gave it a 5. I've been excited for this to open up and thank goodness the food matched the promise. My partner and I went for the ramen combo meals so we could try some appetizers too. The pork buns weren't the best I've ever had but they were damn good and i personally didn't get a lot of octopus in the takoyaki i ate but the flavor was good and my partner reported lots in theirs. The yakitori was grilled to perfection, but I wasn't expecting a spicy sauce on the pork belly (it was still very good, just caught me off guard). I was hoping for shoyu style ramen, but they had tonkotsu so that was fine, and it was SO good. The pork was definitely better suited here. I actually didn't take a photo of the ramen because I was so excited I dug right in. We finished it off with taiyaki, which is delicious and filled with sweet red bean - i was hoping for custard filled personally, but it was better red bean flavor than I've ever had before. I also got a lychee juice, the price was on par with what a boba/tea shop would charge, so could get pricey if you wanted a lot.
Honestly the worst thing was that it got busy while we were waiting for our food and people waiting for a table were using their flashlights to read the menu, because it's a little dark in there.
Will be going...
