Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Wilkes-Barre

Absolutely love the food. But the service is horrible. I went here, the guy at the drive thru window, wasn't the nicest. Just handed us the credit cars machine, and walked away from the window. I didn't know it was self service. Then we got our food. We drove away, noticed that they never offered or gave us dips for the chicken strips butter for the biscuits and never gave us forks. We drove all the way back, told them, and they told us to pull up to the window. So then the same guy who was there before, told us we should've have asked, as he was also saying they aren't responsible to offer anything unless we ask for it. I thought that was totally odd. So we just said ok, and parked in the lot. Its a good thing we did. I asked for the chicken strips, and they gave us great, legs and thighs. I put everything back in the box, and went in. I told a skinny kid, (not sure if he's the manager) what the issue was so he said to the guy at the window, who was the one we had an issue with, to make me an entire new one. He told them to through away my entire order that they got wrong. If I would've known that, I would've have just kept it instead of them tossing it,. Now I was standing there, and one of the other workers was looking at me and laughing while the guy who was at the window, was getting me a new order. Then he brought me the order, I asked for a receipt, and then left. I felt uncomfortable at the time, felt like I was being talked about because I had to have them correct their mistake. A customer should never feel that way. Never. I did go online and reported this experience, and checked to have someone to call me. I left my information when it asked me. The chicken here is very good. It was a little upsetting that they were completely out of every dipping sauce except buffalo. Also had the mashed potatoes with cajun gravey. That was also very good. We ate there on Sunday after 9pm, so the inside was closed and only the drive through was open. Service was fast and the food was fresh & hot.

August 2021 Update: I've taken my review from 4 Stars to 1 Star. We decided to return after not eating here for two years to give it another try. We waited 45 minutes in the drive-thru and there were only 5 cars ahead of us. We got to the window excited to try the new chicken nuggets, but sorry, they were out. Okay, how about the chicken tenders with a Frozen Strawberry Lemonade. Sorry, we are out of Lemonade. We settled on the chicken tenders and I ordered an extra chicken sandwich with my meal. After moving through the drive -thru, I realized they didn't give me the chicken sandwich. They also never asked if we wanted any dipping sauce. Rather than wait another 45 minutes to get the sandwich they didn't give me, I called in and they had no problem meeting me at the door. However, when I had them on the phone, I asked if I could get some dipping sauces. Once again, they were completely out. Now I know why Chick-fil-a lines are 5-times longer than Popeyes. This place sucks! Our food was cold this time. Employees in the drive-thru were goofing around. The place is completely mismanaged. I feel Popeyes (or at least this location) is a sinking ship. I have been visiting this popeyes frequently since the chicken sandwich came out.

I took my whole family there the day after xmas and it was nearly an hour and a half affair. There was an obvious lack of management that could be felt intensely the longer we had to wait. Even after we received our food, the employees failed to inform us that they were out of some of the menu items we ordered. Blatantly sending the food out anyway. Also took us 20 minutes just to wade through the sea of people to get the napkins and condiments we asked for and they forgot the first time as well.

2 weeks ago, I was in the drive thru at dusk, needed to call the restaurant from outside just to get them to turn the lights on outside. The business side by the highway was also off, didn't even look like the establishment was open until i got there.

I visited there again last week and the drive thru attendant that usually works nights is always very dismissive when she knows the order isnt right. I learned this the hard way, after getting about 30 mins away and realizing only 2 out of the 3 chicken sandwiches I ordered for my friends were in the bag.

She'll open the window, thrust the food at you, and say GOODNIGHT and close it.

Tonight I ordered again, specifically with the request "NO MAYO" and it looked like they went out of their way to SLATHER it with extra.

As a business man myself, I lament for this particular franchise. It's clearly being ran by uncaring individuals.
