My Fiancé and I stopped by looking for somewhere to stop for a coffee break during a little motorcycle adventure. They were closed because it was the 4th of July but Melissa and her son were out front potting plants and she invited us in anyway. She offered us anything except for coffee, ironically, because their machine takes a long time to get up and running (and again, they were closed for the day so no complaints!) and we enjoyed some of their amazing ice cream! Definitely try the lavender honey flavor! It’s seasonal so be sure to check for it this summer before it’s gone! My fiancé enjoyed the blueberry lemon sherbet. Even with all the lights off it felt so cozy in there! The colors were fun but warm. It’s just an adorable little cafe and they’ve got such a loving mission! Though we didn’t get to try their espresso yet I did buy a bag of their local coffee and I’m sipping on that right now and it’s pretty good! I’m pretty selective with my coffee but I would recommend it. I’m pretty sure Melissa said it was Got Your 6 Coffee. The dark roast I got was almost too dark but had a decently nuanced flavor. We really enjoyed getting to talk to Melissa and we’re super grateful for her hospitality in refreshing us in her day off. Stopping by was like a breath of fresh air! We were already having an amazing day but going by The Hive just made it even better! Thank you so much, Melissa, the world needs more people like you! (We hope you found our little tip. Just wanted to give a little extra to say thank you for that...
Read moreI finished my paid internship at The Hive last month. Yet since the completion of my internship, I have stopped by there again THREE TIMES! At each visit, I saw many familiar faces, including Miss Skaggs and the other members of the Lunch Quad, of which I myself was a member. Not only that, BUT, yes, I ordered coffee and a sweet treat. The last two times, in particular, I ordered the Spiced Pumpkin Latte and one of their SEASONAL FALL treats (respectively, Apple Cake and a Pumpkin Scone). I really liked these treats, as well as the coffee. You see, for being on the autism spectrum, The Hive made a great place for me to work this spring and summer. After all, they intend to provide work experience and job skills to persons with disabilities. And coffee shops are a staple of who I am. Even since I stopped working there, The Hive makes really good...
Read moreThis was our first time to visit. I had a coffee, but no food, although it looked like they had a nice menu of breakfast items and smoothies that we will have to try on another visit. This is a very nice place inside with a small gift shop at entrance. I really enjoyed checking out all the plants and other items for sale as we waited on our drinks. The young lady that assisted me and my family at the counter was very friendly, helpful, attentive, and made our day start off with a smile. She and the other staff that helped make our drinks were great and we definitely recommend if you are in the mood for some good service, happy faces, and tasty drinks, then this is the place for you on Saturday morning. I am proud to say that my family and me will be returning. Thank you to all at The Hive for your good work! See you...
