I have been so eager to try this place but since theyāve been open, everyday thereās another problem. Grill broken, items not available just literally always something. Today when I called to place an order, very rudely the lady answered and said āwe donāt take orders over the phone, i got people standing in front of meā like what? They used to be fine taking orders over the phone and now how am I supposed to know that you randomly decided not to? Iām finished trying and hope the best for them. But a lot of businesses have had to close their doors lately for similar reasons. When you first open, youāre operating on word of mouth and I have nothing good to say. The least you can do is have good customer service. And in 2023, every restaurant takes orders over the phone. Good luck, Williamsburg is a tough place to be successful when youāre a small business. Iād treat the people who actually want to support me really well if I were you guys.
Replying to your response: maāam you MOST CERTAINLY DID TAKE AN ORDER OVER THE PHONE BEFORE maybe talk to your husband because Iām pretty sure he answered that day. Why on earth would I lie about that? And yes youāve stated that your grill was not working. Iām not sure if you briefly had someone else answering the phone but this is what I was told. Thank you for your nice nasty response but I will not be back and wish you all the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn case you havenāt heard, Hibachi Buddha, a husband and wife owned and operated gem that opened in July, is a must-visit in Williamsburg. In the last three years, my fiancĆ© and I have indulged in almost all of the culinary delights of Williamsburg, and we were thrilled to find this place deserves all of the rave reviews they are receiving, We tried the Hibachi sampler and General Tso Chicken, and they were exceptional, especially when mixed with their Yum Yum and Soy sauces. Fresh ingredients and made-to-order dishes shone through. The only disappointment was discovering that their famous egg rolls had already sold out. We heard rave reviews about them, but we'll have to come back for those on our next visit.
While we waited for our food and in between taking serval customer orders, Vashiona, one half of the dynamic husband and wife team behind this extraordinary establishment, enthusiastically shared their inspiring journey, starting from a COVID-era home-cooked meal to this restaurant.
Operating hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 11 AM to 7 PM and Sunday from 12 PM to 6 PM. Check their Facebook page for availability, as they sell out fast. They don't take phone orders, so be patient, get the know the owners as you wait, and you will not be disappointed.
Hibachi Buddha is a Williamsburg treasure with friendly faces, incredible food, and an inspiring story....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe came all the way from the 757 to try this place out. It was definitely worth the trip! We ordered 2 general tso meals, one with chicken and the other with shrimp, both with white rice. My husband also got the vegetable egg roll. First off, the customer service? Amazing! The young woman at the counter was so sweet and welcoming. The food was also made to order, so it was nice and hot when we got it! We tasted the food before we added their signature Yum Yum and Ginger sauces. It was immaculate! The chicken and shrimp were seasoned well, and tasted so good! The rice was also good, and wasnāt hard like some other hibachi places I have tried had. But let me tell you, once you pour the Yum Yum and Ginger sauce over your food and mix it togetherā¦it takes your meal to the next level!!! Thatās what the woman said was going to happen once we did it ourselves. I donāt know how to explain it, but it enhanced the flavors even more in our meals. The Yum Yum and Ginger sauces were definitely a nice add on for our food. Overall, this was a healthy, delicious meal! It wasnāt filled with grease, didnāt feel heavy with unhealthy ingredients (like artificial things). It was like eating a home cooked meal right at home. We will be coming...
