Not "the best food in Williamson" as it says on sign. The place is small. The dining area is nice. You have to walk through the messy kitchen hall to get to the one toilet in the place. NOT wheelchair accessible. The bathroom looks old and dirty. Makes me wonder how clean the kitchen really is.
The place was empty at 11:30 am. One old guy came in after us. That's it for customers.
The food....nothing special. I cook better at home. And I'm not a great cook. The homemade cinnamon roll with frosting was messy. Not really a roll shape either. Drowned in frosting...too much. The chicken dumplings were not that good my husband said. I ordered waffles with strawberries. There were so many COLD strawberries on top, the waffle was cold. Shouldn't the berries be WARM? Read moreEllie's Country Kitchen is a small mom-and-pop restaurant in downtown Williamston. It has good food, at reasonable prices and a homey feeling. It is great for a casual family dinner, with friendly and efficient waitstaff, and a relaxed attitude. Breakfast is served all day, and all the choices, from omelets to waffles and more, are delicious., My seven year old son (a card-carrying pancake expert) says that the blueberry pancakes are the best around. (He's not wrong.) We have tried several of the entrees on their menu and always been more than satisfied. The broasted chicken is great, and so are the burgers. If you get a chance, try their...
Read moreThis down-home, family owned restaurant has been serving our community for years. The parents no longer are the owners as the son (Brian) has taken it over and poured a ton of money, time, and effort in it's remodel and updating appliances. A very humble man and a great cook! The bread is made in house and the ingredients are carefully sourced for quality and taste. That is evident in the Italian sausage served with breakfast. The coffee is mellow and satisfying. Do yourself a favor and order some food! Thank-you Brian for not giving up on this Hometown...
