Spad's Twisters — Restaurant in Williamston

We usually love Twisters, as does most of Williamston. Unfortunately, our first visit of the season was not up to par. The gentleman there was friendly. Besides that, putting the customers in a weird position asking if we want to put a tip on the card is terrible. A tip should not be expected in a drive thru especially with the service we received. It’s completely uncomfortable. Place a sign on the window stating a tip can be added if desired. My husband overheard the girl tell the other girl “nothing” assuming about the tip and then subsequently we were given a tiny portion for the order. The novelty of eating ice cream out of a plastic batter's helmet or colorful plastic trash can has a special appeal to kids. If one kid gets one and another (related or from another table) sees this, they say, "Aww, why didn't I get one?" It seeds desire for a future visit.

Maybe it's bad luck but I never end up having a good ice cream here, and I've given them lots of opportunities. My kids like the rainbow cone (which is just vanilla in a standard cone with a trickle of color on it), but despite being through a considerable amount of their menu I have found nothing enjoyable. Their soft serve is always really grainy. A particular lowlight is their butterscotch dipped cone, which is like eating a cold candle.
