Rarely do I leave reviews about anything, but I think this is necessary. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, go somewhere else. If you are looking for the experience of a tasteless Caucasian attempt at Mexican food, this is the place for you. I have gone to this location and also the North Adams location on several occasions. Each time I go, it gets worse. I tend to give the benefit of the doubt (pandemic related, staffing issues, etc), but this is just pathetic. I ordered the nachos and my spouse ordered some kind of saucy burrito dish. I was informed that the nacho plate is just cheese and chips. That isnt nachos. Maybe if you're at a movie theatre, but not at a Mexican restaurant. I asked for the typical stuff on nachos (salsa, shredded chicken, rice, beans, queso, avocado, sour cream, etc.) I was told that they do not carry queso, avocado, or shredded chicken. I received a very flat plate of chips, sparingly sprinkled with what looked to be maybe american cheese and chunks of chicken 1sq inch in size. The worse part was that it was completely unseasoned. I was annoyed that I had to specify the basics on nachos, but I didn't realize I had to request it be seasoned. the chips weren't even salted! Not even a hint of cumin or onion powder. My spouse's burrito was entirely unseasoned as well. I've had a more authentic Mexican food experience at Taco Bell honestly, and that's just terrible. And like I said, this was not a one-time mistake. Not to mention, the two bland meals and two (non-alcoholic) drinks came to $50-something total, yikes. I'm a local and have experienced this scenario on several occasions. TLDR: Save yourself the expensive disappointment and go to Coyote Flaco, and don't forget the tums ;)
If the owners are reading this, here are my suggestions: -Buy seasonings. -Visit other Mexican restaurants and experience the tastes. -Make sure you put the seasonings on the food. -Mexican food should be ordered as "what do you NOT want on it?". When people think ingredients for a burrito, nachos, tacos, etc, they think everything but the kitchen sink. -Hot sauce comes in more than one...
Read moreIt was a quaint restaurant with a fun yet adult atmosphere. The walls have nice murals with a few mexican pieces here and there. The bar are is nice with a large tv. I think it would be a great place to stop in for a drink. We went on a Tuesday. They offered a special including all you can eat tacos, burritos and something else. That was really nice! More food than I could eat but great for someone else. 😊 I was disappointed that they don't serve a classic food of flautas or taquitos. Also no fried ice cream unless it's summer. My mom and I were there for a little something. We were hoping to share some flautas. No big deal. Unfortunately I found their prices a little high. $14.95 for a quesadilla seems like a lot. We ended up getting coconut shrimp and their crispy tortilla with cheese. Both were delicious! The gentleman that was serving us was very welcoming and kind. He always smiled and made us feel right at home. We had great service from him. He was also helpful finding things that weren't hot for my mom. He clearly enjoys being there and making people happy. That was truly a pleasure.
There was a short haired woman working there that didn't exude the same vibe! I'm trying to find a nice way of saying, she just felt a bit cold. We sat next to where she was. As she passed us several times, (in a smallish space) she never acknowledged us, said a kind word or so much as smiled at my mom or me. We felt a bit uncomfortable for some reason.
All in all, I'd like to go again If we can have the welcoming...
Read moreIt’s poorly executed and the flavors and textures are not great, if you are going to serve salsa and promote it as being house made , with chips in my opinion it should be. A burst of fresh flavors not something that resembles a couple of stewed bottled brands dumped together. The menu is limited while the bar is ample well stocked, however the soft drinks are overpriced $3.95 plus 3 small cali tacos with rice resembling ready made heat and eat rice and black beans from a can should not cost between $18-$20 dollars. While I understand overhead cost and expenses I don’t understand why Iced tea without sugar is this price. I literally heard two other tables explain they were only there for drinks, and in Spanish told each other the food was the equivalent or dumpster leftovers. Thankfully I had already eaten and formed my opinion as well as my dining partners. However, sadly I agreed with the other diners. I have had this cuisine across the US and oversees and frankly I’d rather eat a TV dinner and brew my own ice tea and I can easy make allot of tea for the $12 I spent on 3 diners glasses. This menu and food is not for me, and I will not return again. Save your money and go to a different...
