A Great Place Willows Motel Williamstown NEW ROOMS ,NEW MATTRESS, ORGANIC BREAKFAST We stayed at the Willows Motel on a very busy 25th 26th of August and were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of our stay at this small, independent establishment. It's just a couple of minutes from the Williamstown Theatre Festival summer theater on the college grounds as well as the Williams College Museum of Art, and just a couple minutes more to the outstanding Clark art museum, and less then 10 minutes to the spectacular MassMoCA in North Adams.
The rooms are set back from Route 2, just east of Williams College, and we noticed no road noise at all. Although we live just over an hour's drive away and visit this area frequently for all its attractions, we had never even noticed this motel before.
The owner greeted us as soon as we walked in the door and immediately offered us bottles of water and chocolate Kisses. He is an enthusiastic and engaging host and made us feel most welcome. He signed us in and then showed us to our room, with assurances that he would be around to deal with any questions or problems we might have.
The room was large, it was perfectly adequate. There were comfortable chairs, a huge wall-mounted TV (65"? maybe larger?), brand new mattress and cozy bedding. The bathroom was clean and shiny, with quality toiletries and quality towels. It was apparent that care is taken here to check off the boxes to please guests: an extra shelf added over the toilet for personal items, hooks on the bathroom door, enough towels for the number of guests expected, clever folding of wash towels to cradle the toiletries for presentation, and then prominent placement in the room of instructions for the free wifi, a good, quiet air conditioner. It was just all there.
We went to William college , just a 2-minute drive, and then drove about 40 minutes to Tanglewood to see the area . We were back in the room just before midnight, and we had a quiet, restful sleep.
Breakfast was included and it was displayed in the office area. There was a plentiful supply of pastries, breads, bagels, and organic fruits, and plenty of hot coffee. We spent lots of time there chatting with the owner and with other guests. All in all, a very pleasant stay and a great value...
Read moreThis place is pure trail magic. From the moment I arrived, I could tell they truly care about hikers. The rooms are spotless and thoughtfully set up with a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, but what really got me was the little kindnesses. They even let me lay my wet gear out to dry behind the work shed—simple, generous things that make all the difference after a long stretch on trail.
The real heart of it, though, was when they still honored the hiker rate during a packed holiday weekend in peak Williams College season. They were fully booked, but they chose to stand by hikers instead of profit. That kind of generosity—willing to take a hit just to help someone out—is rare, and it’s exactly what makes them true trail angels.
The rooms themselves are freshly renovated with new mattresses, updated electrical, and brand-new fridges and microwaves. You can feel the care that went into making them comfortable.
And the breakfast… wow. Honestly one of the best I’ve had on the entire trail. Fresh, filling, and made with love—it set me up perfectly for the miles ahead and reminded me that some places really go above and beyond.
As a bonus, there’s an amazing Greek restaurant right in the same parking lot. Show your room key and you’ll get a great discount. The food there is fantastic and just adds to the whole experience.
If you’re anywhere near here, do yourself a favor and stop in. Places like this don’t just give you a bed—they give you kindness, care, and the kind of memories that stay with you long after the...
Read moreI would heartily recommend Willows Motel Williamstown MA. The owners very kindly had my room ready for me when I arrived earlier than expected after the drive to Williamstown from Boston City. The accommodations were roomy, comfortable, and fully equipped, even to the detail of coffee wifi at the bedside! The motel's location is close from Williams College, and the rooms are secluded, even no noise, from the street by the attractive main house. The property extends next door Olympic restaurant Also in the back in motel heated the pool which opens on Memorial Day. A continental breakfast was served in the reception Much better than a typical continental breakfast. There are bagels, English muffins, cold cereal, yogurt, and lots of fresh fruit: apples, bananas, clementines, kiwi, even blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries as well as nuts for the yogurt. Also coffee, tea, juices, mini donuts, muffins, seet rolls and banana bread. Room was comfortable with nice, clean bathroom. New mattresses this is the best breakfast I have ever tried in any motel , its more then enough to satisfy one's appetite before hiking, playing tennis, visiting the Williams Museum of Art or Clark Art Museum, catching up with friends at a college event, or touring the campus with its many new buildings. Spring Street has changed a lot since I was last there -- with new shops and a choice of...
