After looking through local menus online, Water Street Grill was exactly what I was looking for. I’m willing to pay a little more for good coffee, good beer, and food made with love. The fact their site mentioned “love” as part of the equation sealed the deal, and WSG delivered, big time.

I sat at the bar, was immediately greeted by Denise - a super friendly, helpful, and down to earth bartender who guided me through the menu. I started with the large organic house salad - a huge portion of perfect veggies clearly fresh from a local farm. Choosing my main dish was a struggle, but I decided on the veggie pasta primavera and wow, the kitchen absolutely nailed it! Incredibly full of layers of flavors that didn’t get in each others way, but instead stood out on their own, depending on what veggie was in each bite. I opted not to have dessert, but enjoyed a third beer instead - my first, the Queen City porter, then the Allagash White, and finally a Victory Pilsner - all fantastic.

Especially post-pandemic, consistency in the kitchen is huge, and this kitchen crew should be immensely proud of what they’re producing. And judging from all the smiles and laughter amongst the staff and patrons around the bar, WSG is producing not just great food, but great vibes. Well done all! I’ll be back.

If only they had a good...

After reading about the reviews, I figured I should write something to help people maybe avoid this location for the time being. I ordered food for pick up and I live about 25 minutes away, and I arrived for it and went home. As soon as I got home, 3 out of 4 boxes was wrong, so I called and shockingly, the bartender knew and said my food was ready to go. So, you knew something was wrong and didn't call me and waited for me to call you out? She tried to argue with me with how mistake order was worth more than what I have. And I care why? It's not what I ordered.

So I drove back, only for the food to be cold when I got home since they made it right then and there and just had it waiting for me. Didn't try to compensate me or refund it, just mentioned to keep the other food. So I drove for a total of 90 minutes and 30 miles for a garbage experience overall. And my order, two orders of wings, a burger, and a meatloaf dinner, I don't understand how that's a hard order to screw up. To top it off, I asked for a medium burger, and I got a McDonald's patty - just cooked to the max, no pink, nothing. Again, simple instructions, garbage results.

For and last time trying them out, maybe give it a go in a year and see if...

Water street grill is perfection! We were so happy with the service and the food, it really exceeded our expectations! This is a casual and cozy atmosphere perfect for apres ski. We ordered fried beans, waffle fries, the chipotle sausage pasta, the meatloaf, ribs, and the sirloin tips - everything was SO TASTY! I got to try a taste of all the meals at the table and they did not disappoint. Even the meatloaf which I normally wouldn’t be a fan of, but this was sweet and flavourful. The food was hot, tasty, fresh, and the portions were very generous. The cost was also very reasonable especially given the potion sizes. Thank you to our server Sara who was attentive and thoughtful, she heard we had a birthday and added a candle to our birthday boy’s dessert.

We are visiting from Canada, and during our trip we had a not so great experience at the restaurant “Birkshire Palette” rated that a 1 star :( - we are so glad to have redeemed our culinary experience with this...

College town beer pub with good food options. We had a wild salmon grilled with a sesame glaze with 2 sides (22.99) a generous helping of cole slaw and waffle fries which weren’t as greasy as you’d expect. The salmon was fine and slaw tasted vinegary and dressing was not creamy but simpler. We also shared a Caesar salad which had a non traditional vinegary oily dressing, not the typical eggy creamy garlicky one. Not bad just not what I would expect. The croutons were from a package. Generous romaine lettuce (11.99). Wait staff was awesome — perfect experience with this young man. Good atmosphere and not crowded on a weekday evening. I’d go again and order a sando or one of their specialties.

Incredible, hands down some the best food I’ve ever had. I ordered the Hibachi steak, the teriyaki sauce really made the dish shine. My fiancé ordered the barbecue chicken sandwich. Where to start??? The sides I ordered included wild rice and garlic mashed potatoes, I could have ordered just these two things on their own and been more than satisfied. The quality of the ingredients is apparent. The ciabatta bread that the chicken sandwich was served on was fantastic. Don’t forget to try the homemade waffle fries! Didn’t grab dessert because we were both so full from dinner but next time will save some room, because they also looked delicious! I wish we had food of this caliber back home!

My half sandwich with a side a lettuce was $15.99! It was under light lunch for $12.99, which is still high since the "salad" was just lettuce with croutons. The half sandwich was on toast. The roll was 3 dollars extra. Although I did not get the roll, she charged it anyway and said the half sandwich was $15.99, which would be an insanely high price for a half of sandwich. The Mozzarella was really cold out of the fridge, which didn't make the sandwich any better. There was a tad of pesto that I could barely taste. I had been there many times years ago, but this time was awful.
