Smokey's BBQ — Restaurant in Willits

Mediocre Food. Bad service.

Food 5.5/10 Food was very standard. Most of it bland. $22 for a brisket plate and two sides. Brisket was dry, old. Not fresh and flavorful. Cole slaw was Safeway quality. Macaroni Salad was a highlight. Big chunks of feta was tasty. MOST DEFINITELY not worth $22. Super overpriced.

Service 2/10 The lady working was not very attentive at all or aware of what was currently available. We were in a hurry so we came back to grab the food after 7 minutes.

We ordered a side of cornbread ($1.50 extra) and a pulled pork sandwich. $16 for just the sandwich?? Not a solid value proposition.

It wasn’t until we got home that we realized Cornbread Wasn’t in the bag. AND Our Pulled pork sandwich was actually brisket and not pulled pork. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Seeing as this was the first experience and with over 50% of the order wrong or missing. definitely don’t desire to return, not even to get our cornbread. Fully honesty It’s just not...

Smokey’s BBQ is Bomb!! He has the grill going in the back from morning tell closing constantly prepping, checking and serving. As far as I could tell, it’s a one man show and he keeps his recipes tight for all of his dishes. With everything he cooks he pours his sole into it and the presentation at the end is just as impressive as the savory taste that you’ll get from the food itself. Smokey’s has all the gumption to be much bigger than he lets on but alas he can’t be at two places at the same time.

It was not the best and definitely out of taste. Crockpots galore, BBQ (forget about it) type of food. I was actually excited and waiting for them to open. My hopes got the best of me. Tasted like too much smoked liquid smoke and cheesy dollar store bbq sauce drizzled on top of meat. Price is outrageous which I understand because the price of everything has gone up including the meats but god bless me for saying this, it was the worst (bbq) I mean crockpotted food I have ever tasted. And I really hope one day we get some real smoked bbq...
