Horrible experience! I was hungry and I haven't had fried chicken for a long time.I sent someone in for me.I noticed 10 minutes went by and was hungry and concerned.15 minutes later they come out in a flustered manner.I said "what happened? " I was told the cash register wasn't working.I said "ok.but where is the chicken?"I was told there was a young lady at register and she had a calculator out and didn't know how to use it! Clearly there must be a hidden camera somewhere🤔. So my friends says "your on the calculator on your phone it should just tell you the answer once you punch in the prices and add your tax. The young lady replied 'I don't know how I can't so I cant sell you the chicken. My friend replied back "I tell you what the food I want is is $5 bucks I will give you $10 bucks and you can figure it out later" The lady said "nope uh uhh no I can't do this you ain't getting no chicken!" Please note that my friend can see the new chicken coming out the fryer and you guys know the feeling of seeing fresh food and can't get it!😔 my friend said the young lady behind the counter was not able to use the calculator🤔.My friend assure her the food is $5 and she will receive $10 she got upset and said "I cant sell the chicken!. My friend walk back to the car upset and hungry. I have had fried chicken for a while and I figured since I couldn't get it that day I didn't need it.I had an aunty that passed away years ago and we we go to golden bird chicken, so I was always hesitant to eat there to many memories.I gathered the strength to go but not go inside,I am glad I didn't.😔I wont be back at that golden bird chicken place, and I wont take any kids either.if they had half a star I would...
Read moreThis review is for the Golden bird Restaurant on Avalon Boulevard. From my remembrance back in the day which was early 70s on when I lived in the LA/Inglewood area Golden Bird was the absolute bomb.! Best chicken in the whole wide world as far as I’m concerned, I never had a dull moment nor a bad plate of chicken from them — as time went on I moved away from the area for the most part, they went out of business for what I understood— I always talked about Golden Bird when anything about good chicken and food came up. Now 44 years later, When I normally get back into the LA area, I’d like to go back to some of the old spots that I used to dine at. I decided to go by and get some chicken from Golden Bird. at least that was on the sign. Long story short worst chicken, I’ve eaten in my entire life! It tasted nothing like I can remember the fries were nasty, the chicken had no flavor. The coating on the chicken granite was supposed to be crispy, but it was like a cement covering hard as a rock! I threw most of it away and imagine spinning $40 on two plates! Anybody reading this please do yourself a favor keep driving PAST this location do not stop and get any chicken or anything...
Read moreBack in the day, Golden Bird was the place to go for the perfect golden, crispy chicken with fries and a soft buttery roll. Unfortunately, that's not the case any more. Since the brand opened it up to franchisees. There is no brand, independent owners in my opinion have diluted the quality.
I stopped visited two other stores a few years back, the store was filthy and food horrible. After reminiscing with my mom, I thought I'd give it one last shot. The place was clean, workers pleasant, food came quick. I ordered 3 pc chicken meal with fries and grits, and a waffle on the side.
The only thing worth eating was the chicken. A bit greasy, but good. Chicken tenders, highly recommend. Grits and waffle, horrible, definitely not Roscoes. The fries a bit on...
