Overall Experience Feedback
The food was enjoyable and the atmosphere across most of the property was pleasant. However, I have a few notes for management. If I were evaluating as a secret shopper, the service would have failed dramatically. I hope this feedback is helpful in improving the guest experience.
As the face of the property, the hostesses set the tone for the entire visit. One hostess was friendly, welcoming, and smiled appropriately. Unfortunately, the other did not greet us with a smile or the level of professionalism expected at an upscale restaurant. A proper greeting should include:
A warm smile
A polite welcome such as “Good evening”
Escorting guests to the table
A courteous send-off like: “Enjoy your meal. Your server will be with you shortly.” — delivered with good tonality and a smile.
The server exhibited similar issues: a lack of upscale, welcoming language and tone. There was minimal attention to detail and no effort to anticipate guest needs. For example, a fan connected to a shaded area near other tables was not turned on prior to seating, which could have helped deter bugs. Only the table fan was running.
I understand that business demands can strain service levels, but the following improvements should be considered:
Use of more professional and polished language
Greater attentiveness when checking on guests
A mindset of: “What can I do to go above and beyond?” — even if not always realistic, it should still be the goal when applicable.
While most of the property was clean, the table where I was seated had bird droppings on both the table and chairs. Additionally, there was a lack of equipment to manage mosquitoes. Other tables were cleaner and better protected by fans or enclosed areas.
Key takeaway: Cleanliness is a shared responsibility. Even if bugs are difficult to control, the table and surrounding area should be cleaned thoroughly before seating guests. 4) Food
The food met expectations and was generally good. However, some of the menu item photos on the website were outdated and could mislead guests who aren’t aware of recent changes. This should be reviewed carefully to avoid confusion. Final Thoughts
The primary concerns stem from front-of-house service, which can be easily addressed with training and attention to detail. I hope this feedback is taken constructively and used to elevate the...
Read moreI'm from Massachusetts and I've eaten at many Greek restaurants throughout New England and the South. This restaurant struck out on quality and service. Last night I decided to give Kipos a try before taking my significant other there. The meal started out on a high note with a delicious Avgolemono Soup and then went totally flat. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki, a Greek staple dish and it was tasteless. This was the worst version that I have ever had the misfortune of eating. Even Greek Church festival food put this dish to shame and it was over priced too. When the manager finally came over to my table at I pushed this less than half eaten dish aside, he told me that it had been marinated for over 24 hours. Perhaps they just marinated it in olive oil because they certainly forget the other ingredients. There even a scarcity of vegetables on the skewers and perhaps 1/16 of a cup of fresh chopped onions and tomato in the plate. Now let's discuss the server. She stopped by my table to inquire about my meal. l had eaten a total of four pieces of chicken and I told her that this dish was terrible. She didn't offer to get me something else, or have the the manager come over. She just walked away. She finally came back to my table 15 minutes after I had pushed plate away from me and asked if I would like to the take the rest of my uneaten meal home. I informed her in no uncertain words that her job performance was unacceptable and asked to then speak with the manager. He came over and practically begged me to give the restaurant another try. I paid the check and left no tip. Southern hospitality and in my opinion quality Greek food doesn't exist at this overpriced...
Read moreJust ate here last night with friends and I’m still blown away! From the moment you enter you’re greeted with a smile and a staff that genuinely cares about your visit. I’m talking about you Zach! I started out with a pear martini. Fabulously floral, slightly sweet and the pear was definitely the star. We started out with appetizers: grilled octopus (omg so delicious), saganaki (fried cheese served with warm pita bread) but it’s much too fabulous for something so simple sounding, and let me just take a moment to lavish praise on the fried zucchini stack with the green goddess sauce. So light and airy I thought we’d have to tie strings to the ends to keep them from floating away. The tzatziki served with warm pita was thick and garlicky. Now on to the main courses: I had the branzino. Here at Kipos you choose your own fish and then they take it away to be cooked. It was expertly filleted tableside and served with olive oil, lemon juice and herbs. The fish itself was so fresh I fully expected to see someone in the kitchen with a rod and reel. My husband and our friend had the kakavia, a fish stew with a tomato and saffron broth. Outstanding! Our other friend had the salmon and loved it. We also orders two plates of the Greek lemon potatoes. Please get these! Two desserts was shared by each couple. My husband and I had the baklava cheesecake and our friends split the chocolate pots de crème. All of us enjoyed cappuccinos. We waddled out to take a tour of the grounds which are so beautifully landscaped. Well, if you’ve made it this far you’ll see we had the best food and the best service! I...
