Sometimes I feel like affordable chain restaurants get a bad rap. And most of the time, I’d agree & say the service is subpar at best, can you blame the employee though? However- even though it took me a bit to find the time to write this review I couldn’t help but share my incredibly positive experience that happened at this location (Carolina Beach Road location). My experience happened on Valentine’s Day 2023. So just like two weeks ago. I called them as soon as they opened placed an order for a later time in the day. I was picking up pizzas for my son’s second grade class. It’s my first time being class mom so I explained to the woman that I was nervous & really just wanted everything to be correct at pick up. Flash forward 2 hours & not only was my entire order hot, ready and 100% correct. The lady that placed it for me made a special Valentine’s Day pizza for me and my efforts as class parent. I could have cried. I picked up the tab for the entire 2nd grade class & in return was so kindly blessed by this woman running the counter that it literally made my day. I wish I would have held on the the receipt to catch her name but I was overwhelmed with feelings. Read moreFirst, it was lunch time and there was nothing ready, as advertised. There was nothing behind the cashier or in the portal. There were 4 or 5 people on staff. So, it’s not like they didn’t have the man-power.
It is one of the absolute worst pizza places I’ve ever been to in my life. It took an hour to get my food and I ordered 30 minutes before I got there. The staff was incredibly rude. There’s one individual in particular who has tattoos on her neck and arms (this isn’t about the tattoos. I am not judging the tattoos. I have plenty of tats myself. It’s the only visible identifier I can think of.) who was especially rude. The nice gentleman at the counter asked me to wait outside because they have a policy of only one person in the lobby at a times. As he was explaining why she loudly interrupted and said “STEP OUTSIDE PLEASE!” Rudely interrupting her coworker. I said “rudeness isn’t necessary.” She loudly stated again “STEP OUTSIDE !” Her demeanor and tone were clearly a sign of frustration and unwillingness to be civil. Someone answered, and then said that they would get to me when they could, when all, I really wanted to know was if they had the hot and ready pizza. I drove all the way here only to find the telephone off the hook, and no one still addressing me on it after 19 minutes on the telephone. When I ordered the pizza and asked to speak to a manager because of the issue, I was met with aggression from the supposed manager on duty. She accused me of cursing, and because of it said that I wasn’t due any respect. I’m quite taking aback that a customer would be treated that way, when they were already treated badly in the first place. As a customer service person myself, a little empathy & customer service skills would’ve went a long way to simply cause the “customer” to feel heard.
