The food was pretty good here, especially the appetizer of Saganaki. The cheeses in that were so good. The Mediterranean seafood salad with angel hair pasta, and if you have cheese leftover from the saganaki, taste great together. I had to put a ton of parmesan cheese on the pasta to give it more taste though. The Greek potatoes were okay but kind of greasy and bland with one of the seasonings leaving an aftertaste in my mouth. Honestly, for how much you pay here, unless you get the pasta dishes it seems you don't get alot per serving. You get diet sized portions of some things. The mixed drinks from the bar are awesome! Overall, compared to Pita Plate in Morehead City this Mediterranean restaurant is lacking. Olympia's menu carries alot of things that to me seem more like American flair whereas Pita Plate at least offered more options that are specifically Greek/Mediterranean, unique and authentic. Marrakesh in Jacksonville, NC also can't beat Pita Plate with their menu of Mediterranean flavors. I was disappointed the Galactaboureko was not made the night I went to Olympia as I would have loved to try some. That was something more unique and authentic that Pita Plate and Marrakesh don't even make. The Baklava at Olympia was good with the first piece . A second piece was mistakenly sent to my table for my guest and that person didn't want it so they gave it to me. That piece was very hard on the bottom and hard to break through, not at all like the first piece. Overall, I say Olympia is decent, a little pricey, depending on what you get you may spend near $50 and still leave feeling hungry. Make a Google reservation for Friday and weekend dining here. During weekends or holiday seasons you may struggle to find a seat in the restaurant or find parking...
Read moreMy husband and I really care about supporting local restaurants so it pains me to give one a bad review, but wow, this was the worst meal I’ve had in quite some time. We ordered takeout through a local delivery service and both selected seafood entrees that run around $25 each, so our tab was more than $50, just for food (not including delivery fees or our driver’s tip). The menu specified that each one would come with a vegetable medley and either potatoes or rice pilaf. We both selected rice pilaf. When our food arrived we were shocked by how small the portions were. I’d say maybe 4-6 ounces of seafood in each entree. Not a vegetable to be seen. Just a small portion of pale fish and a scoop of pale rice. No sauce or remoulade or garnish or anything. It reminded me quite a bit of hospital food. My husband ordered a side of fries that were puny and soggy. I ordered a Greek side salad that was big droopy leaves of iceberg lettuce, not even cut into bite-sized pieces. Overall a total ripoff and we were still really hungry after our bland,...
Read moreOlympia is magnificent! My wife and I ate here about two weeks ago and we are mad at ourselves that we have not eaten here before.
When we walked in the place was packed on a Wednesday. This is always a great sign to me about the food.
The food was wonderful. They do not bring out a little of anything. They serve nice size portions and if you leave hungry it’s your own fault.
The night we went they had a man and a woman playing the guitar, bass and piano. The music was wonderful along with the atmosphere. If you are looking for great food, with impeccable service do not hesitate to go see these folks at Olympia.
If this is your first time eating here you will be mad at yourself for not having...
