Midtown Deli & Grill, INC. — Restaurant in Wilmington

I will start by saying I worked in the restaurant industry for a long time, and understand just how busy things can get. I went on my lunch break and saw the sign that said hot items take longer and everything is made to order, so I chose a BLT thinking it would be the fastest and easiest for all. I waited almost 30 minutes of my hour lunch break, watching all 6 people who came in behind me get their food and leave. I was then asked what my name was again and saw there was a bit of miscommunication in the back area. Im not sure if my ticket got skipped on accident or what but they got on it right after. Some of the people who got served first did have online orders, so I am sure that had something to do with it, but i know a couple of them placed an order after me still... be wary of ordering ANYTHING on a lunch break, not just hot items. BLT was just a BLT so pretty average, about half of the chips were soaked in pickle juice so a bit soggy. Gave a third star because someone was wearing a pride flag hat and its june so happy pride :)

I've eaten at a lot of local restaurants around Wilmington, but I have to tell y'all - MD&G is, by far, the best sandwich shop in town. The menu is packed full of delicious choices for vegetarians, meat eaters, and even someone with a midday craving for a sweet treat.

I work for a local government entity; today, we placed a scheduled delivery order using MD&G's web page. Shortly after I completed the order, I received a call from a very polite lady asking what flavor cookies I wanted. Just prior to the scheduled delivery time, a driver showed up and had our food. Our company CIO was excited because his cookies were still warm! He said, "Eddie, the cookies are still warm! How did they do that?!"

Everyone enjoyed lunch so much I felt like I should share the experience with all of you.

I have been ordering from here for over a year and I am never disappointed. I probably go at least once a week. The food is always great, and the pickup window is super convenient. I started going here for lunch because it’s just so close to my job, but now I go here because it’s just so good. I recommend the Verona and intracoastal sandwiches, Greek isles salad ( I get it with shrimp!) red pepper/Gouda & chicken pot pie soups, and potato salad and egg salad, but who am I kidding? It’s all good! Eat here you won’t regret it.
