If you like places that are serving fun new things, in an outdoor drive up experience, then you'll enjoy Sonic! The commercials got to me, I love buffalo chicken and I just had to try their buffalo chicken snack. And then when they advertised a caramel milkshake I thought I'm going. I've only been there a couple of times and I wasn't pleased those times with how long it took to get your food. But this time I use the app and ordered ahead and I have to say it did work well. The most confusing part was the stalls to the left did not have noticeable stone numbers and that's what you're supposed to input when you get there, so I pulled to a stall on the right but did have numbers, but apparently that side was closed and there was no indication it was closed until the young lady knocked on my window, That could have been done better. But once I realized I needed to push the button and tell them they had made me change lanes, the food was out immediately. The milkshake was so thick I couldn't even drink it, which is the sign that it'll take me a while to consume. I was eager to try the buffalo snack bites and they were very good. I would compare them to a Chinese crab wonton but American. The feeling was adequate. The encasement was good. There wasn't too much of it. It did allow for you to crunch and it took a couple of bites to eat it which is great. I don't think one serving is enough. I think it leaves you wanting a few more. But it was delicious and I didn't have to do the work involved in prepping it. Definitely worth a try. I don't think it's going to stay forever. They seem to rotate things so I'm debating if I need to try it again or if it is taught me I could probably do it myself. I have a pampered chef tool that I think could easily make this a fun appetizer for a football game. The Wilmington market Street location of Sonic was just fine and would be fun for after a soccer game with your kids or if you've been shopping and just don't want to walk...
Read moreI used to be an employee. I've changed my rating because I'm no longer afraid of losing my job over being honest. The general manager, Markus, was married to the manager, Christy. They worked with their child and clearly favored him. Christy is super temperamental and expects other employees to do extra work so she can do less. I worked there for about 5 months and the entire time I think I was allowed MAYBE 5 breaks. All within the same month because labor rate was too high and they just needed people clocked out for 30 minutes to lower the rates. Car hops are only paid $5 an hour and are not allowed to advertise in ANY way that we rely on tips to make our paycheck. And a majority of the customers don't know that we only get paid $5 an hour, I know this because I had SO SO SOOOOO many customers ask if they were allowed to tip and I explained because I'm not a liar. Markus, the general manager encourages us to use the BARE MINIMUM amount of candy and flavoring in shakes and blasts even though the ice scream is damn near $5 each no matter the size. He also advertises it as a great first job but it's very fast paced and it's like being thrown to the wolves.
The kitchen is constantly caked in grease and grime, the ice machine had never been cleaned the entire time I worked there and I've had other employees who have worked there for years say they can't remember a single time it was cleaned either. The ice cream machines are never broken down and cleaned the way they should be. Slushy machines have never been...
Read moreWhat used to be our favorite fast food burger place has been steadily going downhill the last few months. This was the place to go for a really good burger and fries and the wait staff was always super cool and polite. Lately though the burgers aren't getting seasoned hardly at all, leaving them with a rather bland taste and the fry oil not changed frequently enough, making the fries overly greasy and having a burnt flavor. Plus this last trip one of the male servers was constantly looking at their phone and walking very slowly, which was causing a back up with the customers getting their food. Thank God the female server was trying her best! A majority of their parking/dining spots are still closed off months after the COVID cases have diminished, making it tough some times to find a spot. We've seen people making laps in the parking lot looking for an opening only to drive away because of this. Oh, and forget about using their app to order ahead and to try to take advantage of the half price drinks as this location is not using this service. Closest one that is is located in Jacksonville. App always says it is not available there at this time and when we mentioned it to the server they told us they know about it and that's as far as it goes. Plus if you like getting hit up for money by homeless people while trying to enjoy your meal then this is the...
