Lucky Star Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Wilmington

So I'm usually satisfied with Lucky star but the last few times I've ordered they charged me more at the door when paying cash then on my card. I have gotten wings and ask for the sauce on the side and they charged me $1.50 extra.. I didn't ask for more, just what you would put on the wings normally. Another time I asked for some sauce and they charged me $2.00 extra. I order online so I can see how much it is before I put the order in. That way I know if I have enough for tip and what not. I always give a 3 dollar tip. The order plus the tip is usually all the cash I have on me. Well when the delivery driver comes to my door and gives me a different price, that new price takes away from their tip because I don't have anymore than that. So I called up the last time it happened and asked him why I was getting a different price each time. The guy was very rude and said "I tell you why! It's because you always ask for extra sauce and you don't get it for free.". When I'm ordering with my card I am never charged extra so I didn't think they charged extra for the sauces and if that's the case they need to add that to their online menu because it's not fair to the driver. He was very angry and argumentative on the phone I just told him he lost a customer of 3 years. I'm not going to give my money to people who don't care about their customers or employees. Screw that. There's more chinese Restaurants out there for me to try. I hope the extra sauces was worth losing...

I ordered some General Tso's and chicken teriyaki skewers, and let me tell you, the serving size was generous and the food came hot! Unfortunately that's where the good news stops, which is surprising. It seems that this place has a great delivery system that gets food out quickly, but the quality of the delivered food is lacking.

The chicken teriyaki skewers were extremely fatty, lacked flavor, but were honestly the highlight of the meal. The general tso chicken had a mealy texture, little flavor from the sauce and again was far too fatty to be enjoyable. The rice that accompanied the chicken was flavorless and had almost a cardboard texture to it. I was surprised to see the combo came with an egg roll, which was under filled and again without any noticeable flavor.

I certainly won't be ordering from here again, though the food was edible and filling it was not very enjoyable and disappointing. This place is better than only the very worst Chinese food I've had in the past and because of that will sneak in at the...

I have had issues before where the delivery driver absolutely REEKS of cigarette smoke and the paper bag the food is in will stink of it, but there's never been an issue with the food until tonight. I went to eat my egg drop soup (I've had it here before and it's been fine in the past) and it had the most AWFUL taste and I sniffed it and it smelled like cigarettes! I sniffed again and took another taste in disbelief but that's exactly what it tasted/smelled like! I had my husband come smell my soup because I felt crazy and he said the same thing, we had to throw out all of our food because of it. I am asthmatic and have sensitivity to smoke, I've had to use my inhaler after their driver delivers before and with this I'll have to take Benadryl or something too. DISGUSTING! I don't care if you smoke, that's your choice, BUT DON'T SMOKE SO MUCH ON MY FOOD THAT I CAN TASTE CIGARETTES WHEN I TRY TO EAT IT!!!
