Sweet Lucy's — Restaurant in Wilmington

My friend and I were traveling and shopping through Delaware yesterday and we REALLY wanted ice cream! We were told by a few locals at the last store we went to to head to a chain location closer to the boarder of PA and DE, but we saw Sweet Lucy’s first. And from the outside we couldn’t tell there was a line so we parked and went in. This ice cream shop was really cute and had an appropriate amount of air conditioning on! The 3 young people who were associates were very outgoing and provided the best customer service possible.

There was a line when we entered which was a good sign that they are a popular place. My friend and I both got more scoops of ice cream than we should have and waffle cones/bowls. We didn’t get toppings because our various ice cream flavors were filled with extras already. I knew exactly what 4 scoops I wanted but my friend needed help deciding and the ice cream scoopers were VERY helpful in letting him taste a few and decide what he wanted. We sat inside and ate our mountains of ice cream until we were done and I’m pleased to report that we were happier than pigs in slop!

Just returned from this place. It was our 4th visit. We were hesitant to go back after last visit but we wanted to give them another chance. It got worse this time.

We bought two orders; 2 scoops in a cup for $12. The servings once again were like 1 scoop not 2. Less than half the cup. Then we both order one of the same flavors in our cup. We both received the wrong flavor. When I told them about it I was told it was correct and that's how it comes from Woodside Farms. I asked to give it back and select something different. I was told they're not allowed to do that. They can't take exchanges. I said for what we paid for this little bit of ice cream, that isn't what the board describes it to be, you won't provide a different selection? I was told no they will let Woodside know. I said what will that do for me, will they call me? They said sorry and that they will call Woodside. I left saying I will call Woodside myself and see what they say.

I will no longer be going here. Way to pricey, servings are horrible and customer care is the worse. Try somewhere else if you know...

Sweet Lucy’s is my go-to ice cream shop. I love the option of being able to order at the back window bc I can take my dog and sit outside by the picnic tables. At the end of June, I had to put my beloved dog down and on that afternoon, I brought him to Sweet Lucy’s for his last pup cup. When I started to order, I was told there might be a problem with the soft serve machine. When I explained the situation, both girls who were working immediately dropped what they were doing and got the machine working and even gave me some to share. They gave my sweet dog lots of love and were so empathetic towards me. They made sure that incredibly hard day was special. I just want to say thank you to the ladies who were there that day and gave my dog his last pup cup. I’ll always appreciate...
