Service was wonderful BUT....I cannot, in good conscience, give a rating higher than a 3 due to the taste of the food. Our server (who I can't remember her name but she looks like Kate Winslet!), she was great! Attentive and funny. I appreciate all the measures they've put into place especially given Covid-19. Food came out in a timely manner and looked delicious. We got the steak tacos, which came with a side of rice and beans. The rice was delicious. Odd that were some random peas among it, but it didn't bother me much. Beans were good and flavorful as well. Which was why I was so disappointed to bite into my delicious tacos and find that there was zero flavor. It was really disheartening honestly, given how pretty they looked! My boyfriend had the same tacos and he advised me his lacked any taste or flavor as well. There was a salsa that came with it, which I liked for the spice but the flavor, to us, was off. However, I am not considering the salsa when rating the food because I feel that flavor is subjective to a point. But not having any flavor at all, no salt, no anything is really saddening given the presentation of the food. The tacos were really bland and tasteless and shouldn't be so for a main dish. Our waitress explained sometimes they dont add salt to the marinade in order to adhere to everyone's palate, which makes sense but it really tasted like nothing. I mean, a lil salt wouldn't hurt. If I could rate by tenths of a point, I would give my overall experience a 3.9. Everything else about our dining experience was great. I just can't give a 4. I should've known something was off when I saw peas in the Mexican rice! (Just kidding.) But in all seriousness, I would return again, just hope next time we can actually taste the food!

Let me start by saying this was by far a huge disappointment. THIS was our anniversary and we chose this place to give it a try and now wish we went to el cerro or somewhere else that we could have had a better experience for our special day! From the moment we arrived our server Monica was not very kind. She brought the wrong drink and when corrected she left it and brought the right one. Took our order and didnt say a word no friendly nothing. She then goes and stands off to the side or talking with co workers. Someone brought our order over and still didnt get addressed by our server. She was however smiling and friendly with another table so not sure why we got the lack of service we received. She checked in once my husband finished his dinner to take his plate. Then we needed refills and we bith would have liked some more chips and salsa and nothing from her. Other servers were doing great while she stood at the back wall either talking to co workers or looking around. We were never addressed for a refill and had to wait until I was finished eating and sat there before she came and took the plate and brought the check. No questions no nothing. The food was great but it would have been nice to have had a better evening for our anniversary. Specially since they weren't busy.

Finally ate here on Tuesday afternoon after a movie at The Pointe. So glad we tried it! The chips and salsa were excellent, and you get 3 kinds of salsa- mild, tomatillo and hot. They offer lots of interesting food and drink options. The zocalo margarita and roja sangria were both great- we're looking forward to trying some others. We shared a $15 sampler platter since it was our first visit. It was very good and quite a lot of food- wings, taquitos, quesadilla, corn, and cactus fries, plus a nice size serving of guacamole, a little queso (it was really good, wish it was bigger), and some dip for the cactus fries. Everything was good though cactus is kinda slimy like ocra. We didn't know how big the sampler was, so I also had tortilla soup ($7) and hubby got a $2 taco (taco Tuesday special), but they charged $1 for a little bit of sour cream. The bowl of soup was large and pretty tasty though slightly gloopy. Hubby said the taco was average. We left stuffed to misery for $42 plus tip. Speaking of tip, service was very good- thanks Maya! We'll be back to try some more of the interesting items on the menu because overall it was good, though slightly expensive- calling it "street food" seems a bit misleading, gourmet mex is more accurate.

First time here and it is a beautiful space! Inside was very nice and clean. There is a booth where a woman is making fresh tortillas. My sister and I decided to sit outside because it was really great weather. We hadn’t seen each other for a while so we were catching up and took a while to finally look at our menus. The drink menu does not have prices which should be illegal. 😆 I don’t understand it. She said they had small medium and large sized drinks. I ordered a small sombrero margarita which was good but not memorable. After that I had a strawberry mojito. This one was refreshing but a little on the overly sweet side. I didn’t finish it but finished most of it. The chips and salsa were perfection. The chips are probably the best tortilla chips I’ve had at a restaurant. They are perfectly cooked and seasoned. Very hard to stop eating, especially with the Queso. The salsa was very nice. Not spicy and great flavors and seasoning. It was lunch time when we went. I ordered the lunch chimichanga. My sister still hadn’t looked at the menu so just asked if they had some kind of veggie quesadilla. The server had no idea. I think maybe she was new. So as she was looking at the menu trying to decide if they could make the chicken quesadilla without chicken she told my sister they had other vegetarian dishes but couldn’t name or find any. In that time my sister noticed they did have a vegetarian quesadilla so went with that. The food came out in good time and it was all delicious. The chimichanga was smaller than I expected but I still wasn’t able to finish it. The shredded beef is nice and juicy and has wonderful flavor. The shell is crispy and the toppings are the perfect amount. The rice was also good. My sister enjoyed her quesadillas. They looked super cheesy and delicious. Now here is the kicker. Our bill was $65!! I didn’t see the receipt because my sister paid (it was my bday) and they have you pay right there at the table with a machine the server carries. She wasn’t given a receipt only the total. I think they asked her after if she wanted one but she said no. Based on our total I guess my 2 drinks cost $30. We asked for boxes and the girl forgot. When she did remember she only brought one so I had to ask for another and felt bad because I could tell she was a bit busy at this point but she was able to grab one for me. So all in all I’d go back. I probably wouldn’t order a drink because I have no idea what they cost but the...

I wanted to like this place so much - I truly did. I arrived at 7:30pm and was sat at a high top near the bar. No one came with chips/salsa until around 8pm and then no one took our drink order until about 10 minutes later. That should have a been a red flag for me - especially seeing as there weren't many people in our section. My friend and I had gone for the Margartia/Food Tasting for $20, which is advertised to be from 5-9pm. We arrived at 7:30, as stated before, and around 8:15 someone came to take our food order. We wanted to do the Margarita/Food Tasting, but when we requested it, the server said that they had to check with the kitchen to see if they would still cook the small courses that go with the margaritas? Don't advertise something as being from 5-9pm if you're going to stop offering it before that time. I was especially frustrated seeing as I had been there since 7:30 and it had taken then 45 minutes to take our order. We were told that we could still do the margarita tasting, but that it would still be $20 - which frustrated me to no end. The server ended up talking with the kitchen and they were able to make the courses for us. Each course was appetizer sized, which was totally fine because that is what was advertised. The only issue is that after taking up each dish, we would have to wait about 25 minutes for the next course to be brought out. We ended up not leaving until about 10pm. We would have been the last ones at the restaurant, had a 3 top not come in around 9:15. The food was good but nothing to write home about. The service makes me want to never return. I should have taken the warnings from all of my friends that this restaurant was not worth it. The servers were all sitting around chatting most of the time and the head chef was even sitting around chatting with them. We ended up asking for the last 2 courses to come out together and the check soon after. Had I not asked, I can imagine we would have been there even later. Super super super disappointing dinner. Likely will not return. There's restaurants in Wilmington with better food and WAY...

BEST RESTAURANT IN WILMINGTON!!!! and for many many reasons! The food is always delicious and always presented with such class! The service is phenomenal! And they are the BEST place to host an event! My family worked with Myra, who was such a pleasure to work with, to host my brother's rehearsal luncheon here! She helped with all the details! She created custom menus for all our guests on beautiful shimmering cardstock paper, decorated the space, and had her team ready to serve all of us on time when we arrived!!! We LOVED working with her! She always has a smile on her face and a wonderful personality! We also have to mention our lead server, Jackie! Upon coming to this restaurant, Jackie greeted us with such a warm smile and answered all of our questions! She truly knows what she is doing! She was able to give us an entire synopsis of the menu without even looking at it! (VERY IMPRESSIVE!) She told us all the details of each item we asked about and was able to tell us how popular each item was, which helped us select each item carefully for our custom menu to have our guests order from on that special occasion! We HAD to have her for the event, and Myra made it happen! Jackie was great!!! She is always on point, smiling, and upbeat! Very good at what she does! The other servers as well that helped us during the luncheon were also wonderful! I do not know all of the servers names, but Julie was great and made sure all of our drinks stayed filled at my family's table! Myra and the servers also cut and served the groom's cake my mother brought in to be served as dessert! All of our guests were very happy and extremely pleased! Especially my brother and his fiancee! And moreover, my family was EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH EVERYTHING!!! We will ALWAYS go out to eat here in Wilmington when we come to visit my brother and his wife!!! THANK YOU MYRA, JACKIE, JULIE, and ALL THE OTHER SERVERS THAT HELPED THAT DAY AT ZOCALO FOR MAKING THIS SPECIAL EVENT FOR US EXTRAORDINARY AND ONE TO...
