This was not a review unearned.
The fajitas were not served hot. You know how the fajita meat and peppers should be served, the cast iron griddle should be smoking when they bring it to your table and the waiter should be cautioning "be careful it's hot." That was the first sign that something was not up to par.
Second, my son's taquitos looked like they were opened straight out of a Kroger frozen food box. No toppings were served on them like sour cream or cheese and guac.
Thirdly, the staff had to borrow a hot sauce bottle from our table to give it to another family, which was just really awkward. Come on guys, get your supplies ready before the dinner rush.
We lived in California recently for 5 years as a military family and coming back home to middle TN my expectations were high but I did not expect to leave this restaurant feeling so low. We joked about going to Taco Bell to get the bad taste of this poor mexican food out of our mouths.
I ask myself of the Mexicans that work here, do they really eat this themselves or are they told to cook like this? Certainly their abuelita makes better food at family gatherings than what they serve here. Whose making the menu here by the way? Fire or re-train them in my opinion.
Why the people of Winchester continue to patronize this place is puzzling but honestly, I think it has to do with the lack of having enjoyed real, high quality mexican food.
And it's NOT hard, the owner of this business should contact Taco El G's in National City, CA or Primos Market in Oceanside, CA and fly their cook staff out here to Winchester for 1 week to train the staff of Las Margaritas on proper Mexican cuisine.
The diner traffic to Las Margaritas is acceptable for a Friday night, but if another Mexican restaurant were to open up in town that actually served high quality food such as large California burritos, fresh vegetables, basically a simple menu based around pork, chicken, beef and fish, changing the flavors from a high sodium content to allowing the natural flavors of lime, cilantro and properly marinated meat to percolate the tasebuds -- Las Margaritas would be forced to close.
Take this criticism with a grain of salt or take action. When you want to grow a business, you try to be the best. I can't say that this establishment has that goal.
All the best....
Read moreAs a DoorDash driver, I try to be polite when picking up orders along with delivering them. And out of all the places in Franklin County I have picked up from this has to be the absolute worst Pelleys. Every time I walk in there, it smells like mold and mildew so that gives me enough reason not to want to eat there on its own. However, my bigger issue is their employees. I know there’s rude employees everywhere you go, but this place is consistent in their rudeness. As a driver, I have to confirm my orders when I pick them up, but I’m not going to confirm somebody’s order unless I have an order to confirm I want to verify what’s on my phone matches what’s on the ticket before I hit confirm that way I know I’ve done my job as the customers requested it. They refuse to give you your 90% of the time without telling you to confirm the order upfront and then they don’t even ask they scream at you the whole time and they’re just downright rude. I would say it’s a cultural thing but it’s not it’s just because every other Mexican restaurant that I pick up from the people are fabulousare clean. Food smells halfway decent but this place I watch it and freshly prepare to eat or have to deal with those people to pay my tab. It’s just never...
Read moreAs someone who has worked in the food industry for a couple years, it is obvious they have no real system set up between the staff espeacially when it comes to communication. As we were waiting to be seated, a waitress was just standing at the register trying to avoid eye contact. Finally we said we would be sitting outside, we went to the outdoor seating and it was dirty. I mean dirty. We sat at our table, a woman came out to take our drink order, left and never came back. We waited 10 minutes, to have another much nicer server take our drink order. We got our chips and salsa before our drinks, and it was god awful! The chips were so stale I actually choked, and the salsa was so watered down it was basically liquid. We ordered the spinach enchiladas and needless to say we were not impressed. The spinach was undercooked, no seasoning, and when it came out it was almost cold. I'm honestly worried that were going to go home with food poisoning or something because the couple in front of us took one bite of their food, spit it out pulled SOMETHING out of their food and left. It was disgusting, and now makes us worry about the meal we ate. Dont eat here, their food is old, and there are no real...
