Waffle House — Restaurant in Decherd

I had a good experience with the food overall, which was about the only good thing about my experience today. I noticed less than savoury behaviour from one particular lady today that just generally made me extremely uncomfortable to witness. The name I saw on the name tag was Tinker Bell but I heard a different name being called, something like Camelle? She was so rude to staff, belittling them and just overall bringing the staff down as well as the atmosphere. It actually made it quite awkward to be there, as I felt quite sorry for the people who had to deal with it because it didn't seem pleasant whatsoever.

There were also a handful of times where she would pass by me and be close enough where I could smell her and it was one of the more gross smells, as rude as that might seem. This lady smells quite disgusting, and her behaviour seems to match as not only was she just verbally combative and just rude, but once or twice I saw her get up in this one person's face, which I can't imagine would be necessary in any regard, as well as holding the belief that it probably doesn't create an enjoyable work environment.

This was my first time visiting a Waffle House in America, as its my first time in America overall and I wanted to visit American establishments to see what made them so interesting and enjoyable. Safe to say my first time visiting a Waffle House was not enjoyable and was plainly very awkward and unpleasant. I had a friend come with me that I wanted to bring along at a later date but now I don't think I'll bring them along to any Waffle House whatsoever going forward in my travels. It makes me quite sad that this is my first and probably only experience in a Waffle House due to what I've seen today, and I definitely and whole heartedly believe this Tinker Bell / Camelle person should be fired or at least heavily reprimanded because her behaviour shouldn't be acceptable on any...

I have enjoyed Waffle House Food, for as long as I can remember. Our server changes at times, but we usually ask for Evelyn, Lala, or the girl with a name tag saying "The Great". The cook today in particular, made our food with speed, and care. It was perfection. We appreciate Mama Laura so much, as well as everyone here....usually.

There seemed to be a bit of bickering going on, coming from the pink and gray haired elder lady. I think someone called her Camille? She was talking to the customers beside us, telling them how unfair she is treated in her work environment.

I now know that apparently waffle house cuts her hours, and that the other employees are rude to her because of her inability to work as fast as them.

Do I believe it? No. However, it is incredibly unprofessional to have so much gossip going on while we attempt to have a meal at this establishment.

We will return, but it will be on days she isn't there. I have no quarrel with anyone else, aside from a blonde cook we had last month names Echo, who seemed to be....not in her right mind.

Please remind your staff that their customers matter, and do NOT want to hear about things such as "apparently work bullying"

It seems like a cry for attention.

It isn't always so bad, but tonight I can honestly say that it was the worst service my family and I have ever received at a waffle house. We were 3 adults and 2 young children. All 3 adult orders were incorrect when originally delivered to the table. To begin with, my daughter and I ordered coffee with room for plenty of cream in both cups. They were delivered very full and had to have some poured out. Then when we actually all had what we'd ordered, my daughter's dish didn't have the chili she'd ordered, my SIL didn't receive the pickles and mayo he'd requested, my eggs were under-cooked and had to be sent back, the toast was over-cooked, the sausage was burnt, my grits were supposed to be delivered in a bowl but weren't. It was crazy. I've always received very good food and wonderful service at waffle houses. My daughter has worked in several, so we know how it's supposed to be. We were very disappointed in the food, and the service truly left a lot to be desired. Bad experience at the Winchester, TN...
