Lupitas Tacos — Restaurant in Winchester

My wife and I stopped by Lupita's Tacos on the way home from Huntsville yesterday around 4:30. We were the only customers in there. We'd never been there before and didn't know how it would be. The owner talked to us and we ordered 2 dinners, me the burrito plate and my wife the taco plate. They came with choice of 4 meats, white rice, salsa, avocado, beans and sour cream. I've eaten plenty of Mexican/South American food coming from S. Florida and Tucson, AZ, and my food was the best I've ever eaten. My wife only got through half her meal, took the rest home and she loved it too. 02/14/25 Husband decided he wanted to try Lupita’s breakfast for his birthday breakfast spot so that’s where we went. As soon as we walked in the door, we were greeted by the lady and she was super sweet and gave us with menus to browse. He got the breakfast burrito with steak and I got 2 bacon breakfast tacos- they were both AMAZING. My husband said it’s the best that he’s tried since moving here from Arizona over 7yrs ago. Breakfast tacos were great, best ones I’ve found locally. The gentleman that rang us up and took our order was super nice. The chips were from a bag almost like tostitos rounds, the Carne asada was just a huge piece of thin steak with no seasoning, and the "toppings " were in little containers, and a small scoop of white rice. Nothing was mixed together, like the fajitas were. The tamales were bland. The chicken & steak fajitas were good, but still served with white rice. The beans were good with ham in it, but not what I would consider Mexican. The people were really friendly though and always asked if we needed refills!
