Piezan Pizzeria Italiano — Restaurant in Winchester

Food- It's good. Bought slices for the kids, a Titan for the adults and a Chicken Madeira to share. Seating- Apparently large parties are only put in the backroom even though there were several empty tables in the front room that could have easily been combined to work for a 7 top. The hostess had to go and ask the Manager about our party and she was told to wait for a table in the back. Being in the business, we understand that low staff could be an issue as to why there are several empty tables during prime time but staffing did not seem to be the case at all. Servers had plenty of time to linger at their tables, as evidenced in front of us while we waited and there were several staff members on the floor. We first went outside to wait and then after a while, came in as a reminder that we were waiting since only a two top had entered in the 45 minutes we had waited so far. This is a training/management issue here as far as seating parties and it could be so much better. Servers are there to make money and the restaurant wants to turn a profit and that doesn't happen if they aren't seating empty tables while in the meantime, staff has time to stand at a table for literally 15 minutes to chat with their guests.

Service- It was okay. She was very sweet and seemed to be trying. The slices for the kids came out first and we were grateful for that. Then the pizza came out. And then,...wait, wait, wait, wait.....a server/manager? walking by (Adriana?) saw my bobbing head and asked if we needed anything. Told her about the Chicken Madeira not showing up and that at this point we needed to cancel it. She immediately said that she would remove the item from our ticket and if it was close to being done, she'd have it boxed up for us to take with us. At this point, my DIL hadn't eaten a thing and everyone else was finished. She came back and asked us to wait 5 more minutes and it would be ready to go. It either was missed by the kitchen and food walker or never put into the system. Adriana was very sweet and efficient and I'm glad she was paying attention to the dining room and handled our issue right away. The chicken dish was delicious but would have been so much better not eaten out of a take out box while driving in the car, you know?

The food is a 4 inching towards 5. Service as a whole a 3. Adriana a 5. ...

Today Corey was the young man working alone, he was alone with no help. Waited over 30 minutes for beverages , and at least another 20-25 minutes before a young girl came by and threw him under the bus. I asked her why the others were standing around and not helping him out, She then jyst walked away. Then i saw another girl come out to help other customers at the counter.. Our order was garlic knots ,cheese fries, 2 slices and a lasagna. Corey was so polite and in the weeds . Apparently someone had quit and left them short. Where was the owner in all this? At least the food was good except the garlic knots they weren't fresh. Maybe stick to having people order their food get their own drinks and seat themselves until order is ready. Because its obvious after today, staff needs training with serving hospitality and trying to make right with this day.

Reply response. I will visit again , this day was not typical but so subpar from other visits on this day. The young girl should have been helpful not throwing Corey under the bus saying hes kinda new. Clearly a bad day but we learn from them. Prayers to whoever was in accident/surgery. We were told someone quit and he was left to fend for himself.

UPDATE BOUNCE TO 4 STARS from 2. The food was good. I ordered 2 slices , soda and got a new thing to go called a Luna. Has meats ricotta sauce cheese looking forward to trying this later. Restraunt was redone since I was last here. Tables set beautiful. I felt underdressed. They need to consider a lunch special, if they say NY STYLE Pizza. I'm from. NY. This was way better then when I was here last. With the exception of the table next to me eating pizza with knives and forks(ha ha) Clearly unaware of how to eat Pizza with the classic fold. ...

I really wanted to enjoy everything about this place. However, I was visiting from out of town had just drove over 7 hours to come celebrate my friend. First time in town and this is where we decided to go.

We ordered two pizzas, I want to preference we did the build your own. And so when the pizzas came out I was a little disappointed with the small amount of toppings on such a large pizza. Anyways one of the pizzas we had got was just terrible. We had already paid extra for a certain sauce and we were like there is no way we could eat this. The ingredients didn’t taste fresh and it tasted like it was made with cheap alternatives to the original ingredients. Obviously we sent it back having ate less than two slices between all of us. Well I get the check and it’s a $60 dollar check. That didn’t make sense to me. I understand we had decided what topping to get but the pizza was awful not because the combination of toppings but lack of flavor and tasting cheap. (We got the toppings we get on our pizza no matter where we go) and so they wouldn’t take the pizza off the bill and never offered another alternative to the situation. Instead I walked out having paid the whole bill.

Needless to say I WILL NOT be back. That kind of customer service is sad and I expected way more. We will be going somewhere else to night to actually celebrate because that was so unpleasant of an experience that we couldn’t even call it our...
