UPDATED Review - falling! I don't know what happened to this restaurant. It used to be extremely good, but something has changed...overnight. the old crew that worked there were friendly and on top of everything Our orders always came out right and quickly with no issues.
Then one day we noticed that the person who was working the front was not one of the two people we are used to seeing and she did a terrible job and every time we have been in there since, which has been three or four times, we have had an issue. It's either an issue with the food or an issue with the server or both. Today, the food took forever, and the people that ordered aquite a while after us got their food before we did. Another time, she forgot to ring something in, another time she forgot the sauce. Also, today, she had a pile of dirtydishes on the front counter where people pick up their food! That is unsanitary and I'm pretty sure it's a health code violation. Please train this person!
I don't know if this place has changed hands, but if it has, new owner, please note that your store is already getting a much worse reputation then the previous owner. If this store has not changed hands, please check on your new crew because they are not very good.
My old review of this restaurant was five stars. It no longer deserves that. My star rating will continue to go down if this place doesn't improve again. This was the last great restaurant on the northeast side. (Which is kinda sad, but we like it) ...
Read moreToday was my first time at The Great Greek. I took my father out to lunch, not knowing exactly where to eat. We drove by and saw the sign for this restaurant and thought, "Greek? Why not." You enter into an open concept dinning room that leaves you with fast food vibes. There is a healthy atmosphere with subtle music and patrons eating their meals. You can even see the cooks hard at work. Approaching the counter you see the menu is brightly displayed. The cashier smiling. Then you notice a small sign saying special of the day. Today was a Lamb Burger. My father and I immediately agreed that we would both get this item, along with a side of Feta Fries. We sat down and waited for a short time. To our surprise, our food was brought to us on actual plates. They provided even metal eating utensils further adding to the restaurant-esque vibe you get from the service. The food itself was amazing. The burger cooked to perfection. The Feta Fries were hot and crispy, even though the melted feta cheese covered the top. Fresh lemon was provided to brighten up the flavor of the food and it was an absolute game changer. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Greek food or is just looking for...
Read moreCame back to say; my company had this food catered for a birthday and it was so good I had to come here and give praise. The chicken was little on the salty side..but, flame grilled and full of flavor. The gyro meat and tzetziki sauce was phenomenal, I couldn't get enough. I still passed on the rice lol. Salad, cheese, toppings, fruit all fresh, flavorful and nice presentation. I don't recall getting serving utensils though.
First of all, I am so happy to see new food places opening up on the east side. I am very thankful for that. Now the food...omg. so so good. I had the lamb soulvlaki, meat was very tender and juicy, seasoned nicely and I loved the flame grilled taste it had to it. Feta cheese fries were off the hook. Gave cheesey garlic fries vibes. Cheese wasn't stringy/gooey tho. The tzatziki sauce, double thumbs up. Mom had the great greek gyro. She said it was very good. She got salad too.. look fresh, forgot to ask how it was.. All in all, I'll be back. I want to try the gryo personally.
Update: tried the Gyro and it's the best Ive ever had. The flavors in the Gyro blew me away. I cannot wait to get another. Im going to pass on the rice next...
