New England Pizza & Restaurant — Restaurant in Windham

First of all, I never write reviews. This is literally my first one. I honestly wish there were more than just five stars to give this restaurant.

I'm from upstate, NY. When I came into Storrs for work, I searched for restaurants near my hotel and this one popped up.

As I sat and awaited my order, I noticed the entire staff loudly thanks everyone when they leave, and they all give a nice friendly goodbye. I had a super friendly waitress, and she was highly versatile as it seemed like she was working behind the counter at the same time

Atmosphere: 10/10

The food came out very quickly (within 10 minutes), and it was perfectly cooked. I had ordered one of their specials, the chicken/broccoli Alfredo. The pasta itself was cooked "al dente," which, only a TRUE Italian knows how to do. The chicken had great flavor. It was obvious that the sauce was made from scratch and it was the perfect thickness. It makes a great dipping sauce for your garlic bread that comes with the meal (also good)!The salad was pretty good too. In case anyone's wondering, they did have soup options. VERY generous portions of every course.

Food: 10/10

When the check came, I expected to be shelling out at least $25 for the amount of good-quality food I had just consumed, but the total was about $14! You definitely get your money's worth.

In conclusion, this restaurant spares no expense in making sure your dining experience is one to remember. I envy those who went to uConn as students and had this authentic, family-owned Italian joint right around the corner. I will be looking forward to my next business trip to the University, because I will return to New England...

My husband ate here and wanted to bring me. Well, I must say I was extremely impressed by the quality of food, quick service and most of all, the staff. Hector (the cook) and Crystal (the waitress) were totally awesome. They made you feel like family, comfortable and at ease. Shrimp Alfredo, delish! Sausage and mushroom pizza, yummy with thin crust, homemade sauce and generous toppings. Cheeseburg grinder was terrific. The prices are reasonable and I highly recommend you give them a try! OK, I'M ADDING TO THIS REVIEW AS I APPARENTLY CANNOT WRITE ANOTHER REVIEW. My second trip here tonight and Wow! I ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch grinder and I must say I was in awe of the amount of chicken and bacon and accoutrements. I had to figure out how to approach it, as it was enormous. I will never order from this restaurant again. I ordered three grinders and went down the list of ingredients and modified as we wanted. The grinders were delivered as the general item listing rather than made with the modifications we clearly indicated. We could not eat them because of allergies. I called and the manager argued with me insisting Door Dash should somehow be responsible for issuing a refund, even though they had nothing to do with the errors. He carried on arguing and not listening to me at all, speaking over me, only defending himself and not even hearing me for quite a while, refused to either remake our grinders or refund us, and finally hung up on me. I am so livid at the total unwillingness to make this right! Worst customer service I have ever experienced. With fees it was over $60 for three grinders and 2/3 we couldn’t even eat. I have literally never even written a review before but...
