This restaurant and pub brewery is located in a large, historic, 1909 U.S. Post Office building. I love when old buildings are reclaimed and reused. The building was grand and made of limestone and granite. The pub is where the customer lobby was, the large dining area was the post office work room, and the Postmaster's office is used as a private dining room. There were plenty of parking in the back too. It's across from the Town Hall and is wheelchair accessible. We came here for an early dinner. I entered through the pub which is not the main entrance. There were two employees standing there but didn't acknowledge me; they just kept conversing with each other, the guy made eye contact but he didn't greet me, weird and rude. Anyhow, I flagged down a server (it was 5 minutes of waiting at this point) and they were super nice and told me the hostess is at the back entrance. There is a handicap accessible ramp at the back entrance. The hostesses and waiter were very nice and prompt. I love the decor and the high ceilings. The old remnants of the post office was evident. The place was packed but we were seated quickly. There are high chairs and a kids menu. Since it's St. Patrick's Day weekend, there were plenty of specials. We got our kids Mac and cheese. I got an espresso martini to start and a Shepherd's pie. I finished off with an Irish coffee. The drinks were great! The food was also good. My husband raved about his burger. Aside from the initial first impression of the place, our experience turned around for the better, overall. I would definitely dine in again but maybe train the bar staff with some more customer service etiquette.

I have to update this review-- the prices are just too much now. I understand that everywhere is increasing prices, but I'm frustrated that I can no longer afford to go here almost at all. It's really nice otherwise. Everything is >13.00 and bread was 1.50. I left a review previously and said that while I still enjoyed coming here, the nachos weren't as good as they once were. I got an official reply saying the nachos were always this way. So here's proof, from 2019 that they used to look and taste very different. You can see the color is different and there's not a hint of grease, the cheese blend melted together and sat on the chips without soaking into them. Obviously there was still grease on the cheese but it never made the chip soggy. You can see it best in the third image. I was told by the cook that the recipe was changed from a three cheese blend to a two cheese blend many years back, and I don't know what it is now. I don't know if it's even possible to get the old nachos back. The only reason I kept going back was hoping to recapture the taste that made me stay in Willimantic. But not a single nacho used to be soggy, and the cheese stuck to the plate, you could pry it off with a knife and every single bite was amazing. Now it's very greasy and unlike the nachos of yesteryear. I don't blame current management for not knowing that it was different in the past, but I am still very sad to lose what once was. Go for the beer, though. It's still great.

Not a single complaint to be made. We pulled in to the parking lot 10 minutes before opening and there was already a lot full of people waiting. We walked in and were seated immediately and I couldn't stop looking at the architecture and pictures on the walls. What an awesome use of an old historical building. Our waitress came right over and helped my husband but I couldn't decide so she has me pick 3 and brought me samples. She was very knowledgeable of the beers and I found one I loved. They have so many different and interesting choices. Next was the menu with so many awesome options. I can't say more about how good all the food looked coming to the tables around us and ours was absolutely delicious. The prices are also descent compared to other spots. I really can't wait to go back and try the wings and pizza. Great stop on the bike or out with friends after work and very kid friendly.

Basically a spacious pub having a touch of historic exterior and interior. Ambiance and services were great, if not superb. But the American cuisine didn’t hit my tastebud well. I took Basket of Onion Rings and Summer Peach Grilled Salmon and both were okayish in taste. Not sure about other dishes, might be more delicious.
