I've been on the lookout for a new favorite breakfast spot ever since my last one (Country Kitchen in E. Windsor) closed. This is the best I've found yet, and I've tried a lot.
The food is excellent, the onions are actually sauteed, golden and sweet. Most breakfast places just throw them on the grill for a second. Serving sizes are large on everything I've tried, you won't leave hungry.
Obviously, based on the above, it takes a little bit to get your food, but it's worth it.
So, why 3 stars then? Service.
The wait staff is pleasant and easy to deal with. When you can get them. They're constantly on the run, and because of that, drinks are always empty, and when you can finally grab someone, they're just as likely to not come back with your drink. If you need napkins, silverware, etc, expect the same.
The "line" to be seated is just as bad. The person taking names is also busing tables, and its easy for 15 people to show up before the first person can put their name in.
Honesty, the food is so good, I keep going back, but if I could come close to the same quality, and get better service, I'd go somewhere else. It's hard to enjoy your omelette with no fork and a dry throat.
A little better management of their manpower, and this place could be a solid 5. They've got the kitchen staff, and I think even the floor staff, they're just...
Read moreThis is a restaurant my husband and I eat breakfast at when we are in the area. Today the food was good, came out quick, the waitress was okay, not super friendly but not rude either. When we walked out the door we realized we left our box of leftovers on the table but I was carrying our baby in his car seat and my husband had the diaper bag and my purse so instead of turning right around to go back in we walked the extra 15 feet so he could open the car door up for me and he headed back in for the leftovers. When he walked back in the waitress had cleared them off the table already! She could of easily ran out after us as oppose to throwing them out, she could see us in the window if she looked! I saved 1/3 of my omelet and a few hash browns for my baby to eat when we got home and he woke up. It's not like I just left them there because I was full. This to me was terrible of her. If we forgot to pay her I'm sure she would of ran out then! I'm done wasting my money on people and places like this. Cooking my own breakfast...
Read moreMy family drove over 3 hours to visit family in CT and we were meeting for breakfast and needed table for 8 including 2 children. They put us in two tables near each other so moved the table closer. The waitress came over and asked us to move the tables back before the owner comes out cause that’s how the tables break. We started to move the tables back when the owner Tom a man with his fly open and looking disheveled asked us if we were asked not to move the tables. We explained the waitress just asked us to move them back. He then started getting nasty telling us that’s how people get hurt and break his tiles and then told us to get out. Your establishment was empty and it is clearly not a place for gathering. This is by far the worst customer experience I have had. Do not give Tom any...
