This is a review on the parking for flights out of BDL and the experience it entailed. Before proceeding, I've never used a service like this prior to this experience and I've learned a few things during which will have me not doing this again.
I want to thank the front desk person on 10/13 and the person who stood silently next to him for the exhilarating experience below at 6:40 AM.
We reserved a spot for the full day at the Econolodge to leave the car for a few hours as we were transferring between family members and it was the cheapest option available. We paid for the entire day through a second party service and provided the final payment to Econolodge that morning.
One small issue with the dropoff (I noted this was my first doing this, right?), they did have not the keys to the car as I had already locked them inside the car per my standard internal procedure when leaving a car for someone else. I was open with them about this and was told it was their policy to have the keys under any and all circumstances. The document that was provided for drop off by the second party service had a lot of rules but that was not one of them. I was then threatened that the car could be towed multiple times during the reservation period because the keys were not in their hands. That seemed a little crazy to me, which I stated, to then be repeatedly that they could tow the car if the keys were not provided. Not sure what was expected of me. Possibly break into my car to get the keys out? They then told me it was up to their management for what to do, whether to tow it or not. Again, not sure what the proper response to this would be in the situation.
I was told to tell the person picking up the car to come to the front desk before leaving because they needed to know if the car was gone. That was the entire reason for dropping off the keys, to know if it was out in the lot or not. Could that necessitate towing the car? Apparently, yes.
The person picking up went to the front desk. An hour later, instead of 4, because we obviously didn't want our car towed. We paid for a full day of parking just so we didn't have to rush to pick up the car to then have to rush and pick up the car less than an hour after drop off.
Are they refunding us? No.
Are they giving some form of compensation or partial refund since we paid for 24 hours and used 1 because of this situation and disregard for common sense? No.
In the situation I was in, dropping off my car and having someone else pick it up, their standard policy wouldn't have worked either because a checked ticket is required to get the keys back. I can only the imagine what irrational issues and discussion that would have caused!
Finally, I called the night before to ensure I'd be on the van to the airport. That person apparently never wrote it down or got that information to the right people so I had to find an alternative method to get to the airport. Meaning we used a total of 1 / 25th of the services paid for.
It just wasn't meant to be a good experience coming here and we won't be...

I stayed in room 232 for one night, checked in Feb 5 later afternoon, checked out Feb 6 at around 7am.
On Feb 6 at around 10am (while airborne) my skin started to itch. Over the next 2-3 hours red bumps in lines/clusters started to appear on my upper torso, upper back, both arms (lower and upper), both hands, face, and neck. I looked up the cause- BED BUG BITES. I called the hotel on Feb 6 to report the bed bug issue, the attendant said that ānobody had complained about that beforeā, then took my name, phone number, and email and said that management would be in touch. I offered to send pictures of the bed bug bites on my body. I called on Feb 7 in the morning to request a full refund and was told to call later when the manager would be in the office. I offered to send pictures of the bed bug bites on my body, once more. I called again on Feb 10 and was told āoh yes, the notes are hereā. I said āI have not received a call from management. I will post a review relating this bed bug bite incident.ā The attendant said ādo what you have to doā, and that was that. And so here we are with this review. I had to seek medical assistance, as I had an allergic reaction to the bed bug bites. The bites turned into blisters, which started to burst about 36-48 hours after the bites appeared. The doctor was concerned about a possible infection, and prescribed a topical antibiotic, a topical steroid cream for the inflammation, and allergy pills for the itch. I have pictures to prove the severity of the bed bug bites- in case the Econo Lodgeās management wants to see them (I already offered to send them by email). I called the Econo Lodge one more time on Wednesday February 12 2025. The hotel rep was very polite, and stated he would review the facts and investigate the issue. He also repeated the āwe have never had a bed bug issue in this hotelā statement. I offered to send the pictures; the representative asked me if I had picture of the bed bugsā¦
Book at that Econolodge at your own risk. I now understand the reason why people pay a premium to stay at above-average hotels. You get what...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell, I stayed here because my company put me here for work for the night. Definitely needs work done to it, like repairs to things. The room for one was quite small but that was fine as I was the only one staying. The floor was all chipped up and/or paint stains on the floor. Housekeeping didn't do the greatest job cleaning the bathroom as there was a leftover used wash cloth hanging on top of the soap dispensers in the shower. Water stains and such all on the sink and the soap bar holders. Hair was in a couple of the towels/wash cloths that were neatly folded as if they were new. The bed was comfortable and thankfully looked clean, no bed bugs or dirt or anything of the sort in the bed from what I could tell. The area for the most part was pretty quiet other than the airport just about across the street. Even then I didn't wake up in the middle of the night. The shuttle ride is apparently only for the airport as I requested to use the shuttle service to go a few miles down the road to another location and was told no. NO WHERE on the pamphlet in the room does it say that it's only meant for the airport, it just says there is a shuttle for you. No breakfast available, only a little coffee station by the front desk. I didn't use it. Front desk staff were friendly, didn't really converse with them much other than the lady that checked me out in the morning. She was nice. I walked down the road to get Jamaican food which was...
