I had been a frequent customer at Wilson's Pizza when I lived in the neighborhood. I actually spent my birthday there with my at the time girlfriend and she brought in a cake with the candles lit up. While Wilson's was still owned by all the gentlemen including Pete, and the pizza was still cut into squares, business was booming. It was a very alive business with atmosphere. It was a great escape from the world, it was community oriented, and the pizza was awesome. I heard that the business was taken over by their cousins. I went in, and one of the first things that I saw was a garbage can wedged between the seats of a broken table as well as pizza boxes on a bunch of tables on the side, to where you were unable to sit and eat anywhere except the very front of the restaurant. I don't know if anyone here remembers the show Ed, Edd 'n Eddy, but if you do, remember that episode when they make a city out of boxes? That's what the entire left side of the restaurant looks like right now. I went up to the counter and ordered a small vegetable pizza. The new business owner seemed really nice while taking my order. A couple came in after me and ordered a small pizza and spaghetti. As they were being cashed out, a man who I could already tell was a regular customer, holding up his money in his hand as if he was about to make a bid at an auction, walked in. He leaned up against the counter, put his order in with the kitchen staff and expected to be cashed out while the customers before him were already at the register. He ordered a salad, and he also ordered a small pizza. As someone who was a waitress for five years, I know how a lot of regular customers operate. I also know how to handle them. Giving into their entitlement is not only how you lose new customers, you also lose money. I've seen it happen many, many times where I used to work. Despite the fact that both myself and the couple ordered ahead of this man, he wound up getting his food first, which displeased both me and the couple. I could understand if his order was a salad alone, but he also ordered a small pizza which is what myself as well as the customers ahead of him ordered. I walked up to the counter and asked the owner when my order was coming out. She told me now. When I didn't leave the counter, the owner seethingly looked up, smiled and giggled at me. I found that to be unprofessional but due to her very young age, I let it slide. I still tipped her and thanked her. Then, when I had my hands out for my order, the box barely hit my finger tips and the new owner drops the box onto the counter, and walked away without saying a word. I'm not sure if she was angry because I stood up for myself and for the couple, but I would like for her to know that how she treated us was absolutely unacceptable. Treating regular customers like they matter more than the others will cost you at some point if it hasn't already, and I hope that this review is viewed as a learning lesson for the new owner, if it's even taken into consideration at all. In a world that is as crazy as this one, we need places to be in community. Every customer should be valued exactly the same. Not first or second class tiers for who should be serviced first based on who gives you more money. How emblematic is that to the current, unfair society we live in? When people are treated unfairly, we are reminded of how messed up the world is. Please do better and create a space where we all can escape from it rather than reminding us of it. P.S. Take the garbage can out from the middle of that table, fix it and please demolish the city of Edtropolis built from your pre folded up pizza boxes on all the side tables so that people can actually sit down and enjoy the atmosphere that's supposed to resemble a restaurant. Have a little integrity with your family's business that they built from the ground up that's been a Windsor relic for almost...
Read moreGot off a long shift at work hungry and tired and wanted a bite to eat. Wilson was the closest spot next to me so I went there ordered over the phone for a large pizza count wings, and then some Large mozzarella sticks. Went to go pick up my food without no issue I live in Enfield, which is about a 25 minute drive. And I got home just to check my food and the wings were plain and dry. I tried calling back and the manager picked up and told me they could either do store credit or a refund. I opted out for the refund and he told me he couldn’t do it right then and there cause it was a little busy so I said OK And we agreed that he would give me a call back when it was less busy and do the refund . Then called me back about two minutes later saying that they can only do store credit in that a refund is against their policy. I said I don’t want the food anymore and would just like my refund, but he still kept saying it was store policy. I then asked to speak to them higher manager, and he was very rude and unprofessional. He told me we Could be on the phone all day and it would make no difference that I wouldn’t be getting my refund. I understand if I was 1015 minutes away, but I am 25 minutes away almost an hour drive there and back. she was very unprofessional and rude to his customers. NEVER eating...
Read moreLast minute decision for old times sake to get pizza at Wilson’s. The pizza is good, wings are tasty, and the service was also good. Why the 2 stars? The restaurant is run down and dirty and I don’t how they stay open without having been cited for obvious infractions. The inside garbage receptacle is black with mold, literally everywhere. How difficult it would be to clean or replace? No one should be touching it. Seating and tables need a definite upgrade as they certainly can be a liability. Booth upholstery is torn apart with gaping holes and cuts, table top is disintegrating and one chair has the metal bottom frame but no seat. A potential hazard. I don’t understand. Outside grounds littered with trash including used masks, windows are filthy, as is the floor, and in need of replacement. There is more but to name a few, and what does the food prep stations look like, I dare not even imagine. Wilson Pizza…..obviously a town favorite so show some respect for your customers and clean...
