I have ordered From Erbert & Gerbert's for the past six years. I would order personal orders along with weekly orders for my staff. well over $5,000.00 a year. Just recently I ordered a sandwich for delivery. I always order without onions. needless to say the this time it came with onions. Not a big deal; however, I cannot eat onions for a health issue. I called them to asked if I could get a different sandwich. Everything seemed fine until I was transferred to the "Manager" Nate. He was rude right from the start asking, "what is your problem now" I explained it to him. He stated if I could take the sandwich apart and count how many onions were on there. I said, no I am not going to do that, telling him it was loaded with onions. He said I had to count the onions for some company policy. I told him I just wanted a replacement please. He said he was not able to unless I counted it. I asked him if he could take two seconds to look up my account and see that I have ordered 100's of sandwiches and have never complained once. He responded with "I do not care, you are making my life harder than what it should be, I have to get back to work." I was literally on the phone with him for less than a minute so I was not taking up his time I just wanted the sandwich I ordered. He hung up on me. I really did like the sandwiches and soup. but I will no longer be ordering from there again. If it is true that Nate is part owner like I heard, I can see the place taking a tank. there are a few other sandwich places in town. No need to be treated like this after being loyal for so long. I also gave them a chance to fix it using the email customer service, took them over a week to...
Read moreUnfortunately, one of the kids I had at the restaurant accidently threw up outside the bathroom. The owner stormed in and screamed in the 13 year olds face for making the mess. He was swearing non stop and kicked us out of the restaurant. Very disrespectful and un called for. It was an accident.
Follow-up response.... My post was not a lie.....What 13 year old throws up on purpose in front of his friends. He was completely embarassed about what happened. The child told us when we were walking in that he did not feel well and he did not want to eat. He did not say he felt like he was going to throw up. If he did, I would not have brought him into the restaurant. That is just common sense. We had a group of 7 that we were ordering for so I was focused on getting the orders in before more customers came in. I was not aware he went to the bathroom to throw up. I asked for the order to go when I was told he threw up. The manager said we were not allowed to leave until the owner came. This seemed very odd. The child never smiled at you. Even if he did, there is absolutely no reason to get in a childs face and swear at him. Also, we did leave as soon as we got our food. By the way, the food was not good, especially the Mac and Cheese. We will never be back due to the behavior we witnessed by the owner that night. Do not give them your business if they will not sympathize with a sick kid. I offered to clean it up but was told to leave since I did not have anything to...
Read moreThis would probably be a 5/5 for me just for the name and the story behind the theme and sandwich names, but they were also really tasty sandwiches! The bread was chewy and fresh, and the sandwich fixings (I got the Tappy - salami, capicola, provolone, veggies & a vinegary dressing) were all very tasty and fresh. I also got a cup of the chicken dumpling soup, which had lots of big chunks of chicken and carrots and warm, soft dumplings in a creamy chicken base. I also really like that the bread "guts" (the strip of the inside of the loaf that is pulled out to make room for sandwich toppings) are given to the customer instead of throwing them away - it makes a perfect couple bites to dip into a bowl of soup! We found this place in Minneapolis and stopped for a bite during our drive back to Illinois, and I'm so glad we did. This may become a regular visit whenever...
