It sucks because this place does have great food, however, they have terrible customer service. On April 17th, at approximately 10:43 a.m. I called this Deli and asked about a small catering order. I had only wanted a 24-piece fried Chicken basket and a half a tray of baked mac and cheese. The woman who answered the phone told me that a delivery fee for the area I was asking for, (4.6 miles away from Villa Deli) would have cost me $65. I told her that I would call back. I called back immediately just to Make sure that the Price that was given to me was only for delivery and no food included. She assured me that yes the $65 was for just delivery. So I decided to go through doordash. My entire department (10 people) threw up $10 a person for this food. I set up the doordash for the next day, our lunch time, at 10:30 a.m. (4/18). Order Total came too $76.23.
Today (4/18) at 9:56 a.m. while at work I decided to go to the restroom and check my phone. I just so happen to be receiving a phone call from what says doordash on the caller ID. A young man, on the phone proceeds to tell me that they don't have any fried chicken. I was shocked and asked why the person on the phone didn't inform that to me when I spoke to them yesterday. I now have 10 people expecting lunch in 30 minutes. I asked the young man if there's any other food that could be made in replacement of the order just so that I could come up with something for all of the people I just promised lunch to. He says "I don't think so. You just have to cancel the order." I then exclaim to him that I talked to someone there yesterday and they didn't mention that you guys are completely out of fried chicken. At this point I asked for a manager to speak to. She comes on the phone and hears me. Explain why this is such a detrimental issue. I also asked her if there's any other food that could be made just to replace the $76 total and that's so I don't have 10 people who are starving at lunch. She tells me she's going to call her owner and then call me back. I waited 7 minutes just to have to call back myself and for her to then tell me to hold on again and that we need to get the straightened out. She tells me at 10:22 a.m. that her owner will go and buy the chicken and make it and then I can order it through doordash again.
Like I said, lunch is at 10:45... so Villa Deli finally got me to cancel the order that they just didn't want to make. Now I am out $80 until doordash fully refunds me. I'm supposed to be going away for my birthday Saturday, Saturday and Sunday and now I'm almost a hundred bucks short of what I plan to have for my trip. Congrats on the mind game victory, Villa Deli.    Read moreI want to start off this review by stating that it will be very mixed. As was my experience with this catering company for my wedding. I want to point out good things first. My guests for the most part enjoyed their meal. They served buffet style and provided hot cider that I asked for separately. It was priced alright. I would of liked a lower rate but I realize that food and services have gone up. And they cut up and served cake.
Now major problems I had with them. Throughout the process of planning my wedding with them I asked repeatedly if me, as someone with a bunch of allergies, needed to have something made for me separately or could just eat what I had ordered. And repeatedly the owner told me that the choices I had made shouldn't be a problem. The day of the wedding arrives I am hungry and ready to try this food I had made sure I could eat. Only to be told that day that they could not guarantee that any of what I had put on my plate was safe for me to be eating. They offered to get me their steamed alternative which took hours to finally get to our table and when it did it was the most boring food I have had in years. They didn't even add salt and pepper or have any for me to put on myself. This reasonably made me upset and was the only thing that had be crying in the bathroom on my big day. And another major problem was they gave us Marsala Chicken instead of the baked chicken thay I had ordered. I had planned that if nothing else I could have eaten the baked chicken. But I guess I'll never know.
So finally thoughts. I was happy that my guests enjoyed their food and that this caterer offered serving and clean up services but I personally was very disappointed on how they handled my food allergies. If you are someone that isn't dealing with allergies or have guests with bad allergies I think you'll really enjoy working with them. However, if you are like me perhaps you should look elsewhere or have a backup plan...
   Read moreAs good as the sandwiches are,,,that's how bad the dinners and service are. I ordered a chicken italiano, filet mignon dinner, wings and some sides. I gave over an hours notice. When I arrived order was not ready but was ok with being told it would be right out. From that point on it looked liked the keystone cops or 3 stooges trying to get the order out. Different employees kept looking at the order ticket bringing one part of order out at a time, the salad, 5 minutes later the dressing, then a few more minutes and the sandwich arrived. Then we played "lets find the wings" that went on until I got frustrated and told them I just wanted whatever was ready. So 20 minutes after I arrived my "filet mignon" that was sitting on the counter was bagged. If I had known it was sitting on the counter I would have asked for a new one but god only knows how long that would have taken. When I got it to my daughter's and unpacked everything, then I got really angry. What was supposed to be filet, turned out to be ribeye or ny strip. I've had many filet mignons in my life,I know what they look and taste like. This steak was 1/2 inch thick, fat veins throughout, and the size of a saucer plate. I did not expect much for a $16 filet dinner, small would have been ok but it should at least be what they say it is. The baked potato was not cooked, and was thrown out. This was my second visit there, the first order was also incorrect. Service both times showed they have no system to handle orders. The sandwiches and salads are good so stick with them but leave plenty of time if you're on a schedule. One more thing, when I told the cashier I wasn't going to wait any longer I got an attitude. She said "well you only ordered it a t 3:45". When i told her order was placed over an hour ago, she said ,with an unfriendly tone that it said right on the slip 3:45.
