I visited twice for breakfast over the course of 2 days. Day 1, the waitperson was attentive, pleasant, efficient, and created an atmosphere conducive to enjoying the Cafe's delicious food. Day 2, the next day, I ate light and was attended to by a different waitperson. Like the day before, the experience could not have been more pleasant. I am riding my ebike from Connecticut to LaJolla Cove in San Diego after 42 years of doing the prior journey on my bicycle from LaJolla Cove to Connecticut in 35 days (this trip is more of a tour and taking much longer)... I have met a lot of people in the hospitality services such as restaurants and lodging and do feel for some of the demands in catering to the public. It is understandable if some staff have an edge. I did not want to leave my bike out of my sight and I did request of a 3rd waitperson (who unbeknownst to me had just completed their shift) if I could be seated outside. There were 5 outside tables. One of which I sat at about the same time on the first visit. I asked for permission to be seated outside again yet was told the remainder of a large party was about to arrive and I could not be seated outside. It seemed reasonable. 🤔 You don't want 1 person occupying a large table when reservations are in place for many more. I was offered to place my bike out of sight in a secure side alleyway, however, I declined - to me, the alleyway was too narrow... and again, the ebike would be out of my view. I was going to move on to another restaurant but noticed a 5th table that had one chair which was separate from the main partitions for outdoor seating. I requested and was granted seating at the 5th table and we had a solution. While eating the chair I sat on almost gave out, but I sat carefully and managed not to fall to the ground. I did bring it to the attention of the lovely 2nd waitstaff person to help avoid any mishaps for the next patron to come along... Maybe it was a miscalculation of the number of guests expected for the reserved area I was not allowed to be seated in, however, while I was eating it appeared another party seated themselves at the original table I requested and they received service. The 4th table beside them remained empty. When you travel, you can pick up on attitudes which is subjective, but so is customer satisfaction. Courtesy, respect, professionalism, and appropriate demeanor go a long way in the hospitality business. I greatly appreciate the experience I had with the 1st and 2nd waitstaff peronnel. I am disappointed by the 3rd person's communication style. I probably should not go back after this review. Perhaps one constructive take can be I have left some food for thought. BTW, Google shows this Cafe as a hotel... unless I missed something, it is...
Read moreStopped in for breakfast after asking a local policeman where the best place to eat was. Enjoyed this small cafe, great people and coffee was excellent! The food was great as well. I ordered the Flatbed Breakfast Burrito and it was filled with deliciousness! Green Chile sauce on the burrito was flavorful and better than I expected it to be. Large portions, so I took 1/2 home for later.||My family also enjoyed the items they ordered which included the Pancake Special, Huevos Rancheros and Red Chile Bowl. Hashbrowns and eggs perfectly cooked and pancakes were fluffy. ||Overall, great food and great deal for big breakfast portions for 4 adults and a total of $60. Compared to other places in Winslow that charge and arm and a leg for crappy food, Flatbed Ford is your best choice! This place is very small and gets crowded quick, so if you go, go early and beat the rush to avoid long wait times. ||Only concern was that the waitress was a little slow keeping our coffee cups filled, suggested she leave a carafe at tables to give her some...
Read moreWalked in ready to eat lunch and we thought we got lucky because it wasn't busy at all. The server seemed bothered from the moment we walked in. We sat and took forever to even get a menu, as a matter of fact it took SO long we never received one. We walked out and went to Bojo's instead. The rest of the day we recommended everyone go there and not Flatbed.
