A claim to fame I found fascinating was the visitation of actor Harrison Ford. The memorable moment was captured and a photo placed near the booth he sat in. My meal of Huevos Rancheros was yummy, but my friends' fry bread taco looked yummier. UPDATE: Saturday, 12 September 2020..A friend and I made a day trip from Cottonwood to Winslow. After sightseeing and enjoying by friend's reminisces about his boyhood escapades, we enjoyed Navajo Tacos from Brown Mug Cafe. They are handling all the restrictions mandated by CDC well but it is a small cafe so my friend and I ordered out. We were greeted at the door by a very nice young lady. After taking our order, she said she would bring it to us. My Navajo Taco was DELICIOUS!!! Every bite was a taste delight with the flavorful meat and bean mixture topped with fresh shredded lettuce, diced tomato, shredded cheese and medium hot salsa (on the side.) Wasn't able to finish my meal and look forward to eating the leftovers. Wonderful eats and I highly recommend stopping in for dine in...
Read moreLet's start with the positive. The tortilla chips were absolutely delicious and I was welcomed when I entered the establishment. The coffee was Luke warm. I ordered the Biggen Breakfast and ordered my 3 eggs over easy. Not only were all 3 eggs cooked over medium but all 3 yolks were broken. The bacon and sausage both were also Luke warm from a steam table or something. It's standard to precook bacon and sausage but it's also standard to put them back on the grill and make them hot again. The hash browns has zero crisp factor and the pan and griddle oil they use is a soy based super cheap. They should switch to Butter It or Whirl for a better flavor. The service wasn't bad until I went to the register to pay. The server went to get my check but instead of grabbing my check since I was standing at the register attempting to pay and leave he totalled all checks for all tables, stopping and delivering all of those checks before coming up and ringing me out. As a retired Chef and restaurant owner this establishment needs a...
Read moreI saw a plug for this restaurant on FB and live in Flag so I made the drive last night. I don't care about atmosphere that much. So the hole in the wall cafe is fine for me. The chips tasted like Tostitos from Safeway (fresh though) and the salsa was a bit spicy (I like hot salsa) but seemed store bought. Which is fine. I ordered the red combo that comes with a taco cheese (super thin) enchilada and a Tostada. Rice and beans. The beans were decent but the rice was scooped out of something and mushy. There's way too much lettuce and little tomato on everything and the taco w the fried shell was my favorite. I think it was beef. The Sope's were very good and overall it's a good place to stop in on the way thru town. Definitely not the best enchiladas in AZ as advertised on FB. Very similar to Romo's across the...
