The Absolute BEST Mexican Restaurant in Winston-Salem—Don’t Miss This Gem!**
If you’re craving authentic Mexican food that feels like a hug for your taste buds, look no further. My family and I are obsessed with this spot—it’s hands-down the best Mexican restaurant in Winston-Salem, and we come here every chance we get. From the vibrant atmosphere to the warm, welcoming staff, every visit feels like a fiesta.
Let’s start with the food: holy guacamole, it’s incredible. Every dish is a flavor explosion, made with fresh ingredients and seasoned to perfection. The carne asada tacos? Tender, smoky, and melt-in-your-mouth good. The enchiladas verdes? Bright, tangy, and topped with the creamiest queso fresco. Even the chips and salsa (a free starter!) are next-level—we always end up begging for a second basket. And don’t skip the margaritas—they’re zesty, strong, and totally worth the hype.
What really makes this place special, though, is the service. The staff remembers our names, our favorite dishes, and even asks about my kids’ soccer games. It’s rare to find a restaurant that treats you like family, but this spot nails it. Plus, the vibrant décor and lively music make it a fun, family-friendly vibe every time.
If you haven’t tried it yet, drop everything and go. Order the queso fundido, try the churros for dessert, and thank me later. Then come back here and comment under this review—I need to hear what you loved.

Read morePrior to arriving, I called the restaurant saying that we had a group of 8 coming in for lunch around 11:40. When we arrived, they had our table ready and all our menus laid out. I greatly appreciated that. The chips were a good quality and light, but sturdy. The salsa was refreshing and more of a mild heat level. The cheese dip was also quite good. I ordered the #12 lunch order with steak and I added grilled onions in the burrito. I got a side of rice. Overall I was very happy with my meal. The steak was a bit lower quality, but still tasted fine. Adding the grilled onions made it all even better. I wish they did not have such a huge dollop of sour cream as that took away from the cheese on top. The rice was enjoyable and in line with a lot of other Mexican restaurants. For my drink, I had a sweet tea. A personal preference is I think there was way too much ice, but the sweet tea was pretty average. My biggest pet peeve was there were no prices listed on the menu. That made no sense to me. We had gone there on a work lunch and we usually have to stay within a certain budget and I was unable to get any sense on the cost of what I was ordering. I would come back here again and it is definitely popular as the lunch hour...
Read moreCame here at the recommendation of others. We were rushed to order Food took forever to come Food had zero seasoning And the cherry on top THE FOOD HAD HAIR IN IT! A LONG GRAY HAIR! We all immediately felt sick. I called the waitress over and she said all they could do was take the one meal off the bill. I told her that I would only pay for the drinks and cheese dip because we were not going to eat anymore of any of our meals. She got the manager he came to say the same until I showed another customer that came in the door the hair in my Food. Only then was I told "okay listen to me, you can go but don't ever come her again"! To which I responded "let me tell you something, on what universe would I ever eat here again!"
Do not waste your time or money eating here. The food is nasty and so are the staff. Also just incase your wondering we each had only taken one bite out of our plates and when I went to try my daughter's food I found the hair. Maybe that's why the have a no shearing...
