OK It's been about a year since we last visit this place. We live on the other side of lexington. We're on a budget, so we try to treat ourselves once in awhile when we can. Well it was such a let down on this visit. First off no Garlic bread, bacon and another meat (which I don't remember because I wasn't interest at the time. Assist manager arguing with a consumer in front of 4 of us, waiting in line. They ask us for a name, so my wife gave the cashier her name. When tqhey called her name I went to pick it up. There were 4 meals in bag. We ordered 2. So I said not ours. They said the name again. They were frustrated so I tried to lighten things by I saying I'll take it. They had no humor. Out of frustration they couldn't find out what was going on. My wife's name is a common name so I said is it possible that there's another person with that name. Sure enough. The person wasn't there so I'm assuming it was an online order. Why isn't the online separate from in line ? Hey corporate I have an idea, with technology why not have a digital screen that shows the persons order (with a number, not name) that it's being worked on and then when it's done. ( like Domino's pizza stores ) If the person who is calling out the name, like the one who was working that day, mumbles and speak low and he was the boss that day. Really seems backwards. So we had to wait (more) to get our meal. But we still got it before a man who was there before we were. He said that they missed he's order. Unbelievable ! Except for the cashier person, the other three seemed to be disorganized and frustrated. The food was just OK. Will we choose Firehouse again, sure at another one. Question: What's with not having cherry limeade ? Is this just a store thing or corporate ? Enclosed is pic's of the men's room

Updated Review: This place has really gone downhill. The employees were friendly, but they spent the entire time talking loudly about their personal drama — even over the TV (see video). The men’s restroom was in bad shape: dirty, with a loose toilet seat, no hand soap, and a broken towel dispenser (though there was a loose roll available). I had to use the women’s restroom just to wash my hands before ordering. Then, right after I placed my order, a septic truck pulled up. They ran a hose from the back room, through the dining area, and out to the running diesel truck parked in front of the restaurant (see photo). Needless to say, it was not a relaxing lunch — especially for the price of the sub. Unfortunately, I’ll be heading to Jersey Mike’s next time. VERY disappointed. ************ I recently visited Firehouse Subs in Winston-Salem, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making sure my order was just right. The restaurant was clean, well-organized, and had a great atmosphere. Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely delicious! I ordered the Hook & Ladder sub, and it was packed with fresh ingredients, perfectly toasted, and full of flavor. The meats were tender, the cheese melted just right, and the toppings were fresh and crisp. You can really taste the quality in every bite. What sets Firehouse Subs apart is not just their amazing food but also their commitment to the community. Knowing that a portion of proceeds supports first responders makes every meal even more satisfying. If you're looking for a great sub spot in Winston-Salem, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!

This was a poor visit today. Honestly it seems from a glance that the franchise owner either doesn’t know what’s going on, or is really into penny pinching. Why do I say that? Lights were off for half the restaurant, the temperature was quite warm inside, the staff was truly rushing around with only 3 people working the entire store during lunch. Lots of hand made signs like “don’t take more than 1 or 2 sauce packets”. The soda machine was out of most of the drinks, and the ice ran out while I was watching other guests get frustrated about the lack of drink options. Also the carbonation was way off, a ton of folks were pouring drinks out after tasting even the diet drinks. At one point someone said “tell customers that the only drinks we have are diet, and tea” but this was 25minutes after I already ordered. The sub was ok, the prices have gone up over time and I think it crossed the line of not being worth it. It was just… meh. For $14 I would recommend somewhere else.

Our visit to a Firehouse Subs was something out of a nightmare tonight. We've been to this location a handful of times but will never be back. We walked in and ordered, only to be charged 3x the cost of our food. When I questioned it, the cashier said she hit the wrong button and said she fixed it but then when I ran my card through and the receipt printed I could see that I had still been charged the wrong amount. The cashier said she didn't know how to fix it since it had already rung through and apologized. I was with my two very small children and waited about 20 minutes and still hadn't received my food so went up to the counter and they apologized and said it was "coming right up." There were maybe 3 or 4 parties there also and they were all also waiting for their food. About 20 minutes after that, I asked again (we had been waiting 40 minutes for subs!) and they asked what I had ordered and then retook my order because they had forgotten. The cashier offered me a cookie because I had been waiting so long and went and locked the door. I heard banging on the front door and there was a customer outside. The door was locked (it wasn't closing time) and someone let her in and they said the counter was only being staffed by 3 people and they couldn't take any more orders and told her she would have to come back another day. One of the staff members put a sign on the door that said they were closed for maintenance after that. Almost an hour after I ordered they finally brought the food I paid 3x the cost of and it was the wrong order (that I had already repeated my order once!) My kids were starving and falling apart because we had waited so long and we ended up just eating because we couldn't wait for them to fix the order and the cashier didn't know how to fix what she had incorrectly rung up and leaving. The people working at the counter were very apologetic but clearly were new and couldn't handle any sort of volume or orders and there was no management or anyone with experience on duty. We will never be back! It...

This place must get a tax credit for hiring retards. Every single aspect of my visit was horrible with the exception of the sweet tea. I was the only person in line. I stood at the order counter patiently for about 3 minutes while the person fumbled with some papers. They finally look up ,as if dumbfounded that there was someone wanting to order food. I promptly asked for a large #4 combo with an extra pickle., I was asked if i want large or small, then was asked 8" or 12", ok maybe that was my fault not to specify how many inches, so i confirmed 12". Then i was asked if i wanted a drink or chips. Again i say #4 combo, With an extra pickle. At this point i am asked if i want pickles on the sub. No i want an extra pickle.I stated my name was TOM, By the time we get done with this simple order, there are 3-5 people in line behind me. I pay the $11.00 bill thinking there may have been an up charge for that pickle. But was not given any receipt to confirm this. 20 minutes later a guy is walking around yelling out Thomas!, with two subs. I assumed this was not my order and patiently waited for Tom to be called. several minutes later i decided to check the order and it was mine. I knew this because the order ticked had extra pickle, but the tiny little single sliver of a pickle that sat on the tray did not resemble extra in any way form or fashion. At this point i was simply starving and ill, to sum the rest up, the sub was dry, the bread was dry, there was no sign of Italian "dressing" and to top it off the bag of chips i picked was full of crumbled chips. The tea was good. I had a chance to get 3 refills during my near hour visit. I counted 9 people working. Should have went to...
