I booked a cooking class here to do with my 13 year old son who had become interested in cooking. I was thrilled to find something that my son and I could do together that we could both be really interested in. I scheduled the class weeks in advance. Tickets for the two of us totaled $150, which I thought was pricey but worth the experience of us doing something together. I never got any email or text reminders. I got the dates mixed up and realized the day after that we had missed the class. I was devastated. I called right away to apologize and see if there was anything we could do. I would have been happy with any type of reimbursement. I know they were out the cost of the food so even if I could have gotten half of my money back, I would have been happy. Barbara couldn’t have been less friendly or polite about the situation and quite frankly, she was down right rude. Offered absolutely nothing to alleviate my stress or concern and seemed irritated that I even asked. I will clearly, NEVER be interested in ever coming here again and if you are….you better have a fresh unclouded memory because Barbara will be very quick to remind you that “it states in their policy that they offer no refunds or...
Read moreI have thought about this for 2 days and I can't get it off my mind. I visited this store on Thursday just to get a tea ball. I normally go to one of the commercial stores or another local store in Greensboro for my kitchen needs. The associate showed me the tea ball and I chose one and told her I was going to look around a minute. I looked around picked up another item and decided to checkout. I was meeting someone and dud not have a lot of time. I went to cash register and the other associate made the comment that was quick and then she said a little to quick. The lady checking me out did not respond but I felt the comment was directed at me and it was God that prevented me from saying anything because I really wanted to respond. Was she implying something? I just felt like she was and I'll never go in this store again and I will tell everyone my experience. This is unfortunate axperience that maybe they can learn from. At least be more discrete with your comments...
Read moreEvidently their employees are incapable of basic cleanliness...they can touch/stock merchandise/counter/packages, etc. that the public has put their hands all over but not money...makes complete sense doesn’t it? Sad too because they have nice items. I was not able to use my card on my items because I’m in the process of closing on a house and can only make cash purchases but not here at southern home & kitchen. They can touch everything else (including readjust their mask), just not money! So don’t even bother if that’s all you have!! Also no one greeted me or offered to help the whole 15 mins I was there...the employees definitely give off the typical uppity side of Winston vibe. If you’re into that cool, just wanted to warn whomever that might would upset. Very disappointing experience because I was planning to come back. They did apologize (later that day on social media, NOT in person when I left the store empty handed might I add) ...
