Great Wall Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

Took my grand father who lives in Winston Salem here to Great Wall Sep. 23, 2016 around 3 PM. The lady here is very annoying, unfriendly, and just...weird. We ordered 2 general tsos chicken with white rice and she gave us 2 with fried rice. When I complained and told her please give us white rice, she claimed I didn't tell her white. Then she said I talked too much. I never even said a word to her besides about the food. She said she couldnt redo it, but if something was wrong with the taste she could consider a refund. I just decided to try the fried rice and I asked if they had a manager and she said the manager wasn't there. She told me come back to the store later around 9 o'clock . I called later and asked for the manager, and she said there was no manager. I said I was calling about an incident earlier that day about a woman who came with their grandfather and ordered 2 general tsos with white rice, and got 2 with fried rice. She said * oh yeah, the lady talk too much. and she try to get food for free from me. She didn't even realize i was the woman she was talking about. I said *excuse me i wasn't trying to get anything for free. Then the lady just hung up. I called back and she said dont call back or I can call police for harassment. My grandfather said people in his neighborhood have come here and the lady often says people talk too much or they annoyed her but in reality I think its just she's annoying them. Maybe if you could get the orders right, people wouldnt talk too much. Really weird lady. The general tsos was OK with fried rice, but I really would have rather had the white rice. Food is just ok staff is not friendly but close by whenever I don't feel like cooking very hot inside 12/29/18 had moo goo pan today it was delicious. Staff and I have gotten used to each other now the young lady saved me a calender for 2019 I am impressed it's a beautiful large calendar with pandas with a different scene every other month. The eggdrop soup here is quite tasty. All the staff give me a hello wave as I enter now. They are still extremely quiet around customers almost shy. Them and their food have grown on me. Just ate at Great Wall again. The best Special Fried Rice I've eaten since leaving Miami. A lot of goodies especially the meat with add egg similar to Yang Chow fried rice even better than some. The fried dumplings are delicious. The Asian man who cooks is still hateful. Better than most low end “American Chinese” take out joints. Excellent boneless ribs, outstanding fried dumplings, better than average Generally Tso's, beef does not seem predigested. The problem is they are afraid to chase off the aggressive panhandlers, who gallantly hold the door for your wife while giving you their order. Then they come inside and hassle you if you didn't buy food for them. The staff apologizes profusely but says they can't stop it, “If we call the cops the beggars scream and swear and make a scene, then the cops don't do anything even if they do show up.” It's an uncomfortable situation all around.
