I don’t know if there is a place that encompasses so much of what I love about Winston-Salem. On any given day of the week, you can come here for coffee, beer, or wine. But the best is when you see local business owners, friends—human and furry, sunrises and sunsets, local music, food trucks, art festivals, supper clubs, and even catered seated dinners. The versatility of this space is what draws me back here again and again.

My children love the “backyard” for watching the chickens and I love the cortados or iced coffee. Plus because of their broad opening hours, it’s a great place to meet friends for a coffee in the AM or a drink after work, have a date night, or pack a picnic dinner for the family and have a bottle of wine while the kids play. My 5yo daughter loves this place so much she had her birthday here! (Side note: they have a fantastic selection of wine by the bottle or by the glass thanks to their excellent sommelier!) Recently, WSPH went through some changes and the new manager Jenna is doing a fantastic job with her coffee menu but also offering delicious snack options. đŸ™ŒđŸ» To conclude my love letter to WSPH, this place holds a special place in my heart and I go back weekly inspite of living 15...

Quiet, relaxed atmosphere in a very unexpected place. Hard to believe it's there, right across from Piedmont Bible College, or whatever it's new name is. Totally incongruous!

Really laid back, friendly place. While we were there, a couple of 20-something lady patrons were using a hand-cranked device to pull yarn from a skein, roll it into a ball. -- a cut above the old-fashioned method. You won"t see this happen in many bars, I reckon.

The place has beautifully polished wood floors, neat bathrooms that aren't odorous. The place doesn't smell of stale beer, urine or cigarette smoke.

There was, for me, a satisfactory selection of beer and wine. I actually found a beer on tap that I LIKED -- some sort of cider beer.

No, I'm not much of a beer drinker -- just meeting a friend to chat in a convivial atmosphere. It's...

There are so many things that I love about the West Salem Public House!  I love how friendly the staff are, they set the tone for how folks interact with each other. Jenna is amazing- she makes an amazing oat milk latte, and remembers my name! :) The backyard is so welcoming and beautiful (and fenced in- which is so helpful with a fearless toddler).  The addition of heaters outside means that the backyard is wonderful year round! Whether I'm there during the work day to catch up on some emails and drink great Hatchet coffee, to meet a friend for coffee or an evening drink, or just to have a friendly place to get out of the house for a bit, the WSPH is the place to go! Easy parking is...

The West Salem Public House has been such a blessing to our neighborhood! From the first day I moved here I have walked over *almost* every day for an oat milk cappuccino (shout out to Jenna!!!) or a beer (love all the bar tenders!), warm conversation and a beautiful interior AND exterior to gather with friends. The rotating beer list has been great to be able to try out new things and there is almost always some kind of food truck or pop-up happening every week! The addition of Hatch coffee has been amazing! Seriously, go get Jenna to recommend something for you and make you a hand crafted beverage! You won’t regret coming in and you’ll most likely make a new friend and never leave!

West Salem Public House is the best! They have the best coffee in town, the best selection of non-alcoholic beverages (also great alcoholic ones!), and a wonderful indoor and outdoor space. The inside has cozy seating and great wifi. The fenced in backyard has comfy adirondack chairs, ample picnic tables, and space heaters for cooler weather. The baristas and bartenders are skilled and friendly, and the owners are top-notch guys. This place is dog friendly, kid friendly, and laptop friendly. Come here to write a novel, meet a blind date, throw a birthday party, or grab coffee before walking your dog on the strollway.
