Food: I ordered the #4 lunch special which was a burrito (deluxe I think) with rice and beans. Rice: 5/10 moist, but really no flavor Beans: 5/10 great consistency but again no real flavor Burrito: Same story. Executed well but hardly any flavor. Maybe a hint of seasoning in the ground beef. Chips: 10/10. Had a slightly thicker crunch than normal from the free chip fare at Mexican restaurants Salsa: 100/10. Loved this salsa. Full of flavor and def one of my top favorites I've had at a Mexican restaurant. It was so good I asked for a salsa refill not realizing I didn't have many chips left so I used my last big chip as a scoop that I ate the rest of the salsa with before I ate the chip.
Overall, I probably won't come back. It wasn't horrible at all, just nothing that blew me away. Low sodium fans will be pleased. Judging from the good reviews, this could certainly be a one-off as far of the flatness of the food. If I didn't love or been able to taste the salsa I would question if I had...
Read moreFood is average. I really want to talk about their pricing and policies. I ordered off the a la carte menu and specifically told that to the waitress. One soft taco ($2.50), one hard taco ($3.00), rice ($2.50) and a small amount of sour cream. Adding sour cream and tomato to the tacos is $.50 each, so I was expecting maybe $1. She turned my order into a 'combination' and charged me an extra $1.25 for the privilege, another $.50, apparently for the fun of it, and less than 2 tablespoons of sour cream were $1.99. So my $9 meal was billed as $11.74. I wanted to complain, but was with a relative who knows the owner and asked me not to because he is ill. Seriously, a combination generally gives you something extra or a small amount of money off. All I got was charged more. I will...
Read moreMy family and I arrived there around 2:00 pm. We entered and noticed only 1couple at a table eating. We stood at front register for around 1 minute plus when a heavy set female waitress grudgingly got up from a seat at a table where she was playing with her phone, and finally sat us at a table. She was not at all welcoming or smiling. We noticed throughout our meal how disengaged she was to us, the customers. She would just return to her seat and play with her phone, not asking us about the food (which was average) or offer refills. When our food did arrive she just dropped the plates of food on the table out of reach rather than actually handing you the plate. I didn't want to leave a tip as that behavior shouldn't be rewarded. Never returning here.Mi casa ain't my casa...
