He Sheng — Restaurant in Winter Park

Update November 2024. Gave them another try and so disappointed again. Chicken in garlic sauce medium spicy came as just bits of chicken and vegetables with a red sweet and sour sauce on it.. no garlic taste and not spicy at all. And the sweet and sour sauce was still congealed and lumpy as if it was taken out of freezer and thrown on the dish without heating it through. What happened to this place that for years had great chinese food? They either changed owners or cooks a couple of years ago. Definitely getting Chinese elsewhere in the future.

Update August 2023. Something never happene before, the sweet and sour chicken tough and dry and not freshly fried like all the times we have ordered it. Also for years we order shrimp and mixed veg (L21) snd always in white/clear sauce. Last 2 x we ordered they give us brown sauce so I think must be new owners or new cook. Chicken with garlic sauce tender but lacked usual flavor.. maybe having just an off day as it was super busy at 130. Still have pretty good food at good prices.

Previous review was 5 stars. Perfect dishes again. Fresh vegetables, perfectly cooked big shrimp with best tasting sauce. Got the sweet and sour chicken this time and got plenty at lunch price. Fried rice fresh and not greasy. Garlic chicken and shrimp are best I ever had. We have been coming here for many years and always worry they will move. THIS IS MY 2nd REVIEW ILL HAVE DONE IN MY LIFE..I HAVE BEEN LIVING IN THIS ÁREA FOR ABOUT 7yrs. HE SHENG USED TO BE THE BEST..BUT SINCE THEY CHANGED FAMILIES (Owners) (like a year and a half ago) THE FOOD IS NOT AS GREAT …ILL ASK FOR BONLESS RIBS (like always) BUT ,..is this are boneless ribs?? TO BE HONEST THEY ARE MORE LIKE BEEF JERKY (if you like beef jerky ..u might like it) ….AWHILE AGO) I NOTICED SAME THING BUT I STAYED IN SILENCE..THINKING THAT NOT EVERYONE HAS A GOOD DAY EVERY DAY…SECOND TIME THE SAME…NOW THE THIRD TIME THE SAME??? From the very beginning it was trouble The lady was trying to rush me off the phone basically not even letting me order my food I kept telling her hold on I have something else. So I ordered sesame chicken and honey chicken meals. They sesame chicken sauce taste like tomato sauce it was so disgusting and red like tomato sauce it was gross And the lo mein was dry so dry ! And the honey chicken oh my God it was just like plain fried chicken was no honey about it no honey no taste plain fried chicken taste like it came from Kentucky Fried Chicken!! I also ordered the Crab rangoon Even those were disgusting they were soggy they were not even crisp at all they were undercooked not that I gotta take out order I know how they taste when I get a take out or they were undercooked.Was so disappointed it was the first time I've tried this place and it was a complete waste of money I would have took the food back unfortunately I drove from across town for it because they had great reviews. I Would definitely not recommend this...
