If I could give this bar zero stars I would. Last Saturday my husband and I were on a date night that we finally got to have (those of you with kids will understand) when you have children you don't get date nights very often so we decided to see if we could get into Courtesy and enjoy there Miracle on Orange event. Mind you it was raining alot all day and night on Saturday but we wanted to try to enjoy our time out anyways. As soon as we arrived I spoke to the hostess and said to her that it was just us two. She immediately said that they were only taking reservations that night and the reservations could only be made for 4 or more groups of people. We looked around and there was definitely seats open and the bar was not busy at all. We asked if we could just sit by the wall away from the bar which was not a great spot to sit anyways but we just wanted to get in and enjoy a drink together. She just kept saying No it's only for reservations. Mind you it was raining so bad and it was already 10:00 at night. It did not look like anyone else was going to come in due to the storm but unfortunately they don't seem to care about people that are in groups of 2. Which is sad because they are pushing away single people, couples on a date, and 2 friends that are just out to have a good time. I would think they would have just had the "Courtesy" to allow us to join since it was raining bad, there were open seats, and it's the holidays but apparently they only want to cater to a particular type of individuals. I don't understand how a business would want to push away money like that but apparently courtesy doesn't need our money. FYI, my husband and I have been to Courtesy when it was in its Downtown location and they never treated people this way before but I guess once you move to the Winter Park area you only want certain type of individuals coming to your bar. Never going to go back again. I would rather give Luke's restaurant and bar, Eden Bar at the Enzion, and Permanent Vacation bar in...
Read moreI had great experience at The Courtesy Cocktail Bar today! I met with my mentor for our monthly check-in, and we decided to give this place a try. And let me tell you, it's an absolute gem that you simply must visit.
From the moment we stepped in, the vibe was on pointâsuper chill and perfect for hanging out with friends or for a fantastic date night. The service was top-notch, and our bartender, Carlos, was nothing short of amazing. We were blown away by his talent in crafting unique cocktails. I simply told him I like whiskey but wanted something refreshing, and boom, he worked his magic and created a masterpiece. I wish I could tell you what was in it, but it was an elaborate concoction that was as delicious as it was inventive.
Finding the bar was easy, and there was plenty of parking available. We decided to indulge in their charcuterie board, curly fries, and empanadas. Each dish was a delight, bursting with flavor. The seating was surprisingly comfortable, even for someone like me who doesn't always enjoy high-top bars due to my height. The entire experience felt relaxed, and the space was well-laid-out, giving us plenty of room to enjoy ourselves.
The staff at The Courtesy Cocktail Bar were not only friendly but also engaging with all the patrons. They made us feel right at home, adding to the overall welcoming ambiance.
In conclusion, I highly recommend The Courtesy Cocktail Bar to anyone seeking a fantastic time with exceptional cocktails and delectable food. The atmosphere is just right, the service is outstanding, and the entire experience leaves nothing to be desired. I can't wait to return and explore more of their delightful creations. Five stars...
Read moreWe visited the bar for the Miracle on Orange experience Christmas night. We arrived around 8:10 pm and were told there was a wait because the bar was full and we were second in line behind a guy who went in ahead of us. No problem. We don't mind waiting due to the holiday. Several (around 20 people) come after us and wait in the grass area as well.
About 45 minutes later, I see a group of 3 who came in after us go in the bar and eventually take a seat. This happens again with another couple who came after us. I asked the hostess how these people managed to get seats ahead of us and she claims they were on the wait list. Not sure how that was possible when we were number 2 on the list. I asked how other people were getting seats that opened up and she tells us people are moving around and opening up seats that weren't open before. It seems that people just walked in and grabbed (or were given) seats despite the existence of this waitlist. We get a text our table is ready 15 minutes later and she shows us a ledge in a corner with two steel stools facing a wall. After over an hour of waiting I was amazed that she could show us these seats with a straight face while I watched our line breakers enjoy their drink at the bar. We decided this wasn't worth our time or money at this point and left.
I would have made a reservation to come back another day but apparently you can only do that if you have a group of 4 or more. The concept is cute, I am sure the drinks are nice, but the customer service and seating execution leaves much...
