Spill Wine & Craft Beer Bar — Restaurant in Winter Springs

On the early evening of April 24th 2024 I visited The Spill Wine bar. I’m a musician and they host an open mic on Wednesdays that I was excited to participate in. I seated myself outdoors and waited 20 minutes for a server. I concluded that no table service was offered at this establishment so I went inside and ordered a glass of wine. In all fairness, I was greeted by a very professional and attractive young lady that provided me with fast and friendly service. While she was pouring my wine I browsed their wine selection and was very impressed. They stock many excellent wines. I went back outside performed my set and finished my wine. While consuming my Cabernet I noticed table service was offered outside and as I sat there with an empty glass, watching the waitress pass me by more than a dozen times, waiting on every table around me but mine, I concluded that this server was unwilling to ask me if I would like another glass of wine. Then it dawned on me, there’s a possibility they only offer table service to patrons that are members of the wine club. So I went back inside and inquired if this was the case. My husband and I were so excited to try this place. We go to the Wine Room in Winter Park a lot. The one star is actually generous. I’ll go with the decor with the one star. We sat at a high top inside the restaurant. We finally got the one girl behind the bar to ask if we would like anything. We sad yes we are ready to order. She stands behind the bar, never approached our table and had me yell to her our order. There was no one in the place yet, but she could have walked to our table to take the order. I got three different wine choices and could not drink them, they were awful. The charcuterie board was choose 3 cheeses, it was ok, far from great. The small amount of grapes we got were old and not fresh. Once the food was delivered there was never a question if we needed anything. I had to call to the waitress for more crackers. My New Years Resolution is to write google reviews of places my husband and I frequent; just to let folks know where your time and money is best spent. So we’ve been going to SPILL for over a year: The menu is such a step above ‘bar food’; we’re talking flatbreads that you can actually taste all the yummy toppings and the flatbread itself is delicious, not cardboard. And speaking of flatbreads, make sure you try the s’mores flatbread dessert! Yes, you read that right- A FLATBREAD S’MORES! To die for!
