Shared with Public THIS JUST HAPPENED TO ME AT JACS CAFE IN WINTHROP, MA. calling in a phone order......HOW UNPROFESSIONAL and NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY with a "Nasty Attitude"....VERY SURPRISED!!!...been frequenting this hidden gem for over 10+ years, NEVER had any issues, service with a smile..UP UNTIL TODAY!!!....I called to place a Breakfast order at 11:58 am and was told ONLY serving Lunch...guess I missed Breakfast by 0 minutes...🙁...SO I called back to place a Lunch Order...My order was going to be for a Hot Pastrami Sandwich, and a Reuben Sandwich, and other items...FROM PREVIOUS ORDER EXPERIENCES, they wrap the 2 sandwiches in aluminum foil and white paper...WELL as a result of the Hot Steam , the Bread of each Sandwich will get VERY SQUISHED, VERY WET, and VERY SOGGY, ruining the fresh bread and the Sandwich...SO, today I asked if they could NOT WRAP my sandwiches and put them in a container and explained the reason for my request...THE OWNER that's cooking SAID "NO" THAT'S HOW I DO IT!!!...DO YOU WANT THEM OR NOT???......HE THEN SAID IT COST HIM MONEY FOR THE CONTAINER.....I then said HOW MUCH....I WILL PAY FOR THE CONTAINER......HE THEN REPLIED "NO"!!!......HE WOULD NOT LET ME PAY FOR MY CONTAINER TO ACCOMODATE MY SIMPLE REQUEST, AND, REFUSED TO give me the 2 Sandwiches UNLESS I WANTED THEM WRAPPED HIS WAY, with WET....SOGGY...and SQUISHED BREAD!!!!....WTH????......SMDH???? — feeling...
Read moreOn our last day in Boston, we walked early morning from our Airbnb by the ocean to visit this great hole-in-the-wall breakfast place and were pleasantly surprised.
Here is the summary of our visit:
Ambiance 5/5: The name outside is rustic and you can easily miss it so you might have to ask someone in case you walk past it but the inside decor and vibe is great and you feel like you are dining with the locals.
Service 5/5: As the saying on the wall says, this is the place where locals gather. In our 5 minutes of waiting at the counter, we could see that everyone knew each other and the person at the counter knew them as well. The service was fast and friendly. The patiently listened to our customizations and suggested great alternates.
Food 5/5: The breakfast and coffee were both great. We ordered a bunch of items and were not disappointed at all. I don't remember the names of the dishes but both the omelette dish and the coffee was great.
Value for Money 5/5: This is where it shines. Even though everything is great and looking at the local crowd, seems to be this way for a long time, it does not burn a hole in your pocket. Everything was reasonably priced and we had a great experience overall.
If you are ever around this area and want to visit a place where locals eat and have a fun, this is the...
Read moreI go here every Sunday religiously... Literally right after church. I had to do some errands so I called my order in while food shopping and was told 20-30 minutes. I drove to Winthrop about 40 minutes after the call and they told me about another 15. I went to my car and waited 20 minutes. By that time all the people that were in line either left with their food or were sitting and eating. The woman said it wasn't done and I asked how much longer because I was told 20-30 minutes and it has now been an hour. She went to the back and came back with possibly the cook or kitchen help and instead of apologizing he said in an irritated voice that he had nearly 50 calls and if I wanted to cancel my order. That sounded to me like they didn't even begin my order. I was amazed that he would react in such a manner and I was set back because I usually have such a good experience and the food is great it's typically worth the wait but over an hour long and nothing and they were serving people in line before taking care of prior orders. I love the breakfast there but that is not how you treat a customer!! Never...
