Was trying to call in a pick-up order for my 80 year old grandmother and was told she could come to wait in line herself. When told that the person wanting ice cream was elderly and asking if I could place a pick up order, I was rudely told that calling in a pick-up order would be āunfair to the people already in lineā and that someone could go to wait in the line for her. I find this extremely dangerous and agist. We are still in a pandemic and grocery stores and other establishments still have special hours and curbside pickup to keep the elderly safe. I understand wanting to keep things fair, but I think Twist & Shake in Winthrop should consider being more accommodating and inclusive to the elderly. Elders do not want to have to rely on their families just to get ice cream from a local business, frankly some donāt have family to rely on. Also, I have been in this line since COVID-19 and while most employees are accommodating and chipper, it is packed and there are way too many people inside at one time. We will not be supporting this business anymore especially because a pint of Ben & Jerryās is safer, more INCLUSIVE, and cheaper! There are plenty of senior citizens in this town, and I would hate to see them discriminated against simply in the name...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe flavors r cool but im about the customer experience, no hairnets.. and no gloves, one person was practically putting her knuckles in the sprinkles as she dipped the ice cream inā¦.and i donāt enjoy waiting very long watching 1 employee just pick up orders to deliver.. so he stands there talking until the order is done, another employee taking her time.. all while itās busy and the shortest employee is running around crazy with the most patient attitude taking and making orders. Who ever tht young lady is!! Give her a raise and fire the kid with the blond hair & the tall girl with glasses.
Good luck service owners during the summer.. this was on a Sunday afternoon between 4:30 & 5:15.. wasnāt busy at all in comparison to what good weather will bring...

I called around 850pm and was told they were backed up and the driver just got back to the store and my order was going out. I then received a text message at 901pm stating that my order was delivered. I went outside and saw nothing. Figured the order was out for delivery. I called the store at 945pm and was told that the driver rang my doorbell and that no one answered so they left. I have a ring doorbell with motion activation. No one showed up at all. 2+ hours and I decided to cancel my order. Waiting...
