Dairy Queen Store — Restaurant in Wisconsin Rapids

First of all, when did Dairy Queen start asking for tips? It's Dairy Queen, for crying out loud. Half my order required reaching into a freezer to pull out a paper bag for a ready to serve item. Should I assume that the employees are being paid server wages and rely on tips? Servers, by the way, are paid tips based on the service they have provided before the bill is presented at the end of a meal. Adding a tip prior to providing service defeats the purpose. I ordered a blizzard. I specifically walked up to the window and said, "I'd like a small Blizzard. I just don't know the name of what kind I want." My son said the name of a type of sundae, which I figured was also made into a Blizzard. When staff made a SUNDAE instead of the Blizzard I asked for, it was placed on the corner of the ordering counter, leaving the next customer to assume it was theirs. Confusion followed. I was too frustrated to deal with the "Oh, um, we can make you something else". I left and gave the ice cream away. I don't go to Dairy Queen often. It really is a treat for me. This location has one job, ICE CREAM. Yet, every time I try to go here I am disappointed. 3 times I went for dilly bars, they didn't have them due to something being broken. I get it, things happen but there are constantly issues. They always close unannounced, and close early all the time. If you advertise online and everywhere that you’re open until 8PM, stay open until 8 PM! I get that it may be slow in a small town, but I expect a better managed place. I love DQ but this one seems to have really gotten run down. The slushy machine has been broken all summer, apparently they ordered a new part that was wrong and the new one hasn't come in yet. But worse than that there seems to b a lack of putting out a good product...
