I wanted to avoid getting 5 kids loaded back into the vehicle after a long car ride so we decided to stay in the hotel for the night and eat here. The server was friendly and at first she was very quick getting us our drinks and taking our order, but as the restaurant started to fill it seemed she wasn't able to handle it and put a majority of her focus on the bar area. Our appetizer was forgotten, I had onions on my burger when I asked for no onions, and my boyfriend asked for sweet potato fries as his side and didn't get that. The food here is very mediocre at best and the portions are not big enough for them to be asking so much. We weren't asked if we needed any boxes to take our leftovers up to our room and my sons food was taken away before he could even finish it. We ended up telling my sister who had some food left to just take the paper liner and wrap her food up so she could bring it to our room.
There wasn't anything that blew me away with this restaurant. They should probably come down on their prices, I'd say for the burger I got that had bbq sauce, an onion ring, and a side of chips $12 would be fair for the portion and quality... but it wasn't giving $19 worth maybe if the patty was a little fatter or the bun was a...
Read moreSmall bar and restraunt area in the Hotel Mead... It's edible, but for the prices they are asking the food should be much better quality, even after the markup for it being a hotel restaurant.
We had the spinach and artichoke dip, which was good, but it was very watery, and some of the cheese had not melted fully into the dish... This was definitely served from a microwave, and not worth 15 dollars.
We also had the ribeye, but ours was not served with the black peppercorn sauce as listed (this may have been out fault, as the server asked if we wanted "steak sauce" we assumed she meant A1, not the sauce on the dish"... The steak was cooked fine, and tasted fine, but was definitely not a 35 dollar ribeye, it is more reminiscent of a 15 dollar diner ribeye. The baked potato was just a baked potato, and the vegetable was Brocolini, both were cooked perfectly, but overly simple for the price.
All in all, if you are staying at the hotel, and do not feel like wandering around to find food, it's an acceptable place to grab a bite before retiring for the night, however if they would like to become more established, the prices need to come down, or the food quality...
Read moreIn Rapids on a job from Northern Wi. Ordered American Burger & wings. Both really good! Lydia was an awesome server & Molly was exceptional chef!! Were super picky about proper cooked medium rare burger and was perfect! Wings were really good too. We weren't interested in fries so we got a side salad and was too big for both of us to eat. Very generous portions, well cooked and everything tasted good. Unsure of other reviews but we were very happy. Pleased with food, portion & price. Maybe just make sure who's working bc we had an excellent experience. Because City of Rapids permit office sucks we will definitely be back and eat...
